I've seen it mentioned here a few times and I gather that it's a way to determine which colours suit your complexion? I looked at the HoC website and see they do consultations, was just wondering if there's a way to figure out which type you are without seeing a consultant? Maybe going by hair/eye/skin colour? Or is that irrelevant? TIA for any info.

Not easily. I was convinced I was a summer, in fact on analysis day I expected any season except winter. I'm a blue-eyed blonde, and I'd always used fake tan and golden highlights in my hair. I thought I looked good in pastel blues, pinks, yellow, etc.
However, I went to the session sans-faketan, as instructed and my hair was covered. It took the consultant a long time to drape and re-drape me until we came to the conclusion, but once it was identified it was so obvious I was a winter!
I had done a couple of on-line quizzes and read the Colour Me Beautiful books and come out as a Spring on one, a Summer and even an Autumn. But now I look in my wardrobe and remember what I've been wearing when I get compliments there is no way I am anything but a winter.

Thank you for your reply Thanks.
Guess it's best to have a consultation then.

It's definitely worth it.
I'm another who got the self diagnosis completely wrong. I was convinced I was a summer, or at a pinch a winter, as I'm deathly pale, white blonde hair & turquoise eyes. Always wore black or pastels, mainly blue or pink.
I'd done the online thingies & read the CMB books, just wanted to clarify whether summer or winter.
To say I was gobsmacked when I was diagnosed as a spring is an understatement. If I hadn't watched the other two girls I shared the day with come alive in their colours, as a summer & an autumn, I wouldn't have believed mine. But my consultant was adamant & the two others were nodding like mad in agreement.
Now I've got used to it, I can see it. Why did I never notice before how drained I looked in cooler colours? It really is eye opening & worth every penny for the money I've since saved in wrong purchases.
