been strongly hinting to dh about wanting an LV bag for christmas, it would have to be second hand though as the one i want which is the "speedy" is around £500 new

but i know there are soooooo many fakes around and i don't want us to get ripped off

found this one on ebay

what do people think? real or not? it does seem cheap but then it does say "guaranteed authentic" and i know ebay are really hot on fakes and will refund but i wouldnt want the hassle.

and if not, does anyone know anywhere i can get a good second hand LV, or of any trusted second hand bag websites?

ps- i know some people think LV is tacky but i like it Blush

Hi I have an LV lockit which I bought direct from LV about 6 years ago , although the lining looks the same as my original I'm not sure about the one you are looking at . I also have a fake and the leather straps on that have gone the same colour as the on you are watching where as my real one the straps are still much lighter after 6 years . I hope this helps you a little , have you checked there feedback and seen what else they have sold

buttercrumble · 16/11/2013 12:21

Having just looked at their feedback , I would touch with a barge pole. I think they are fake

rainbowfeet · 16/11/2013 12:26

I would say it is real... I have the same bag (real) & it is 11 years old I don't use it all the time so it is in much better condition than this one! Can't understand why they didn't take back to get zip mended LV would have done that free if charge no hesitation.

monkeyfacegrace · 16/11/2013 12:27

I have an inkling that one is genuine. BUT its well worn, is described as fraying and dirty.

Why the fuck would you want a handbag full of somebody elses filth? Urgh, no thanks. Save till you canbuy a decent one.

IslaValargeone · 16/11/2013 12:31

I know you say you like it, but you see this bags all the time.
I don't quite get why you would want to spend a decent amount of money on a bag that is carried by 16 year olds who bought a looky-likey at Warrington market.

CherryColl1ns · 16/11/2013 12:34

I wouldn't touch this with a barge pole .

carrielou2007 · 16/11/2013 13:13

I wouldn't real or fake it looks filthy. All my leather bags start to look better with age and have a lived in look rather than used and abused as this one does, must be better condition second hand out there.

I think it looks real (I have a genuine speedy) but note that this one is from Japan. There is some info about buying Louis bags from Japan on the purse forum and apparently they smell of moth balls because that is how they are stored. I know it sounds a bit random and odd but I think you have to so careful with buying on ebay. There are so many good fakes it may be hard to tell. I would save for a real one.

AlwaysSleepingBeauty · 16/11/2013 15:50

Have you had a look at a proper second hand dealer like Naughtipidgin's Nest? I have a gorgeous second hand LV purse from there, I paid about £100 and they have handbags and small accessories too.

sansucre · 16/11/2013 15:58

It's genuine. (My mother has a lot of Louis Vuitton and including this bag in three sizes, and also a holdall. I have been given the latter!)

I'm so certain it's a genuine bag I'll bet my life on it! I'll also hazard a guess that it's at least 10 - 15 years old, and why it's such a great price.

SeeYouNT · 16/11/2013 17:23

thank you all

hmm yeah this one probably is a bit too worn and used. and yuk at the poss smell of mothballs

sellers feedback looks good to me though? although only looked at first few pages
