Tired looking skin - what should I do?

I look terrible at the moment. Exhausted and haggard. I am so busy that I only have time to occasionally slap some Nivea on. I hate the look of foundation and never wear it. But is there something brightening and effective that I could buy. Not too expensive. I don't want much do I? Basically, a product that will take about £20 years off my face for the price of a bottle of wine. Is it out there?

Not sure but I'd try a serum. Nuxe do a lovely daytime (and night) one. Also L'Occitane do ones I want to try.

Remember (according to L'Occitane salesperson!) they're not supposed to be everyday (serums) only when skin needs a lift tho if its perma tired looking like mine then I would use everyday.

Also illuminating cream but not sure got clarins one not loving it try benefit high beam.

Ps the nuxe is approx £20 but IMO well worth it.

I love and find amazing Olay 7 signs cream. Does the trick. But what you eat makes the biggest difference. I eat lots of good fats, nuts, avocados, butter, cream, veg, salads, fruit and fish. Drink water often. My skin is good with hardly any lines. Smile

I'd recommend doing some hot cloth cleansing (massage in some oil (facial/vit E/almond/Bio-oil etc) then remove with hot flannel a few times till clean.) That's get the blood to your cheeks.

Then I'd apply something like a BB cream foundation (I have the garnier one, I find it a bit perfumed but always get 'dewy' skin comments when I wear it, or if you can splurge a leeetle on something that will last a while, get Laura Mercier's Radiance Primer to brighten your skin and hold make up in place.

You could also go or a glycolic peel. Takes 15 mins, costs about £30 and removes a few dead layers of skin and a couple of years off. You have to wear factor 30 for a few weeks after but I was amazed how quick, easy and painless it was.

First! You need to regularly exfoliate using a scrub or exfoliating wipes:

These and these are great..

Then you need a good cream with vitamin E.

If you're happy to spend more money get a course of DermaRoller treatments - the difference is amazing! It boots collagen production, firms skin and gets you glowing!

Don't forget inside. Drink water, eat fruit etc. vitamins

Origins Vitazing is an amazing skin brightener.

Scarletohello · 16/11/2013 18:39

I agree the Origins Vitazing is a great product. Not cheap tho (£25), but it actually does make a difference!

Thanks to the MNetter who recommended it to me...:)

Superdrug Vitamin E oil - cheap as cheaps and really good. And a new blusher - possibly Max Factor creme blush, which is about £6 iirc.

Valdeeves · 16/11/2013 19:51

Drink water, use coconut oil and a natural looking facial tan.

If you don't like foundation I can recommend bare minerals powder foundation. Really light and doesn't feel 'cakey' like a lot of foundations. You can stick as little or as much as you like. Also really quick as just brush it on so no getting it all over yourself then having to wash your hands. Its a bit pricey but goes a really really long way so lasts ages.
