Best shampoo to soothe these wiry grey hairs on my head? The brillo pad look is not cool.

Hi, I am increasingly noticing that my grey hairs are very woolly and wiry and they look much coarser and frizzier than my normal hair. I do colour them (when I can be bothered) but it's more the texture that bothers me, my hair is in a bob and it doesn't look as smooth and glossy as it used to. I have tried frizz ease but didn't like it - would prefer something non greasy and without silicon. Any suggestions oh wise ones? Thanks.

I review hair products for Boots and I've tried loads of different things, but I always come back to Elvive's 60 second savior conditioning treatment. My hair is naturally unruly and sort of... Fluffy, for want of a better word, and this stuff always tames it. I don't know if it'll be a miracle cure for you, too, but its under a fiver, so well worth a go :)

Thanks, I have some of the Elvive shampoo, the one in the pink bottle, and I liked it for a while but then I found it was leaving a sort of greasy film on my hair. I tried a Gliss one (from the 99p shop!) as it had no silicone but it made my hair go wild!! I'll have a look out for this, thanks.

I've recently discovered Inecto Pure Coconut shampoo and conditioner - paraben free and only £1.99 for a big bottle.

It's left my hair really shiny and soft feeling and I no longer have the wiry white hairs sticking up (apart from when I get caught in the rain twice in one day like today!).

There also seems to be a lot of other products in the range like serums etc. Worth a try maybe as its not expensive so if it doesn't work then it's no great loss.

One or two drops of pure Argan oil combed through wet hair is great for taming the unruly ones.
Other people use, coconut or macadamia. I use Argan for my face and nails too. Wonderful stuff.
You're wise to stay away from the silicones - just a vicious circle.
