Can I just say...the Hush ruched skirt is the comfiest, most useful thing I've bought for years.

This one. It's so soft and goes with basically everything in my wardrobe. Reckon I'm going to be wearing jeans even less now. And you can ruche it up to mini length or down to reasonably smart just-above-knee length.

I'm currently wearing my black one with this stripy top tucked in, black opaques and black biker boots.

Also wear it with big jumpers like the model (light grey or dark red) and close fitting jumpers in any colour. And long or short sleeved slouchy-ish t shirts tucked in.

Black skirt arrived today. I ordered both small and medium. It's lovely on with a big sloppy jumper but I'm not certain re sizing. Medium probably too big and Small is either just right or too tight - it depends how fitted it should be Xmas Confused? Question - am I too old for it at 46?????

I'm expecting mine to arrive anyday. I ordered the S/M in black. Hope it fits.

MrsMcG, I ordered the xs and the s/m and chose the s/m - it's still close fitting but is much comfier than the xs. It depends on the look you want maybe - the smaller one fitted ok but was much tighter and looked shorter cos it was stretched more. For reference I'm usually a 6-8 and the S/m is meant to be a 10-12. And no you're not too old for it if you like it and feel comfortable in it!! It's v flattering on the bum I think :)

Thanks Elizabeth. I'm going to try it on again now in daylight. The larger size was too big on the waist and tummy (bit baggy) and I'm not hippy so expect the smaller size is what I'll keep. Do like it as long as I'm not mutton dressed as lamb!

Ah ok you don't want it bagging on the tummy. I'm fairly hippy (or at least thigh-y) for my size, so the bigger one doesn't bag at all. Its def not mutton with a slouchy jumper. Have you seen their 'new big sloppy' jumper? I just bought the red, arrived yesterday and it's gorgeous :)

The jumper you bought is gorgeous. I've tried it with a burgundy coloured boyfriend roundneck cashmere jumper which I got from Pure with a 40% reduction - just need a scarf or chunky necklace to finish it off!

Ordered!! Style and beauty costs me a fortune.

Hoping the M/L will fit my pretty recent mummy tummy...

Thinking of it with leggings and ankle/biker boots, woolen tights and flats, sloppy jumpers, drapey cardis and scarves... Is it as versatile as I dare to hope?

Going to put mine on now as it will be practical in windy weather! That's how to wear it as a 46 year old (me too) - treat it as a logical response to a problem.

yes cloggal it goes with everything! There is one drawback - it seems to take bloody ages to dry (I don't have a tumble dryer). It much be because of the double layered material and the ruching.

Oooo MrsMcGregor, are you able to share the 40% off at Pure code please?

Sorry Frankie - it was an email offer a couple of weeks ago and prices seem to be back to normal now. Worth keeping an eye as they do frequent offers - are you signed up to their mailing list?

If any skirt owners are reading - sizing! I can't decide. S/M fits, it's quite tight and when I fix up the rushing, it stays where I put it. Like OP said t does look shorter because it's a tighter fit. It tends to follow the line of my hips/legs closer than the larger skirt which hangs much lmore loosely. M/L is 2" wider and gapes at the small of my back (covered by jumper or cardigan). When I put it on, it hangs like an ordinary pencil skirt until I fix it as I want but then the ruches tend to drop down a bit. It's too big, isn't it? The smaller one just feels tight but I don't think it's too small, I thnk it's just that I'm not used to it! Opinions, please?

Mrs McGregor (how is Ewan these days? Smile )

Go with the smaller one and it will wear/wash a bit so it isn't so tight. I make this mistake all the time.

Can I be cheeky and ask what clothes size you normally take? Waiting on my M/L coming, can't remember what size it was meant to be and I'm all over the shop (mummy tummy still there...)

MrsMcGregor · 06/12/2013 21:01

Thanks Cloggal. Tried them both on again just now and the larger size is definitely too big with excess fabric on tummy and at small of back. I'm usually a fairly reliable size 10 so I'd say they're probably close enough to being true to size although some people seem to have sized up. And I can't get shod of my mummy tummy so the 10 is taking it into account too Xmas Grin!

Cheers for the thread and discount code elizabeth - just what I was looking for! Just the nervous wait to see if the s/m fits now...
