Anyone had semi permanent makeup?

I'm lazy and rarely wear makeup as I feel fine without it. Starting to look older than my age and friends have commented I look much younger with makeup on (weeps) so I'm pondering getting semi permanent make up done, just eyeliner and would dye eyelashes as well.
Good idea?

Well it worked for me! I had it done 3 years ago, and it's just beginning to disappear. I wanted eyeliner, as whenever I use eye make up it seems to sort of settle into to the wrinkles the next day no matter how carefully I try to remove it.

My advice would be to choose your practitioner carefully (I turned up as a lady was leaving who'd just had it done). You've got to live with it for a long time, so make sure the practitioner isn't cack handed! Go for a neutral colour (I had black as I have black eyelashes, but be wary of something you will bore quickly of like blues or greens). Also, be prepared that it's a pretty unpleasant experience and that you eye's will be very swollen the next day!

I've never regretted : )

Really helpful thanks. Would defo go black or dark grey.
Other advantage being no smudging, because I wear makeup so rarely I never check my self in mirrors. Always accidentally rubbing and doing a panda effect and not realising!

At three years and fading will you repeat it?

How expensive was it?
How painful was it!?
So many questions!

Yes, I think I'll repeat it. From memory it was a few hundred pounds (£200 maybe, certainly no more than £300), and the pain was quite hard to describe. It wasn't the sort of rip your body open pain of giving birth, but I think because it was sustained irritatation on your eye for 45 mins it was very unpleasant indeed. But not enough to put me off it!

My practitioner also did it in 2 stages, so I asked her to go light with the first one (I.e. a very thin line), but had the option of going for a thicker line second time.

If you ever subsequently have semi permanent eyelashes, the combined effect is brilliant, lasts for ages and doesn't need any effort in the morning to look "made up"
