What hair dye colour to get rid of these highlights?

I have medium brown hair and highlights. I want to dye out the highlights and go back to a medium briwn sort of colour, then just touch up roots as necessary to cover the grey.

I think I'd like to try the Olia colours but not sure which would be best. I'm looking for a 'warm' colour to complement my soft autumn colouring.

I was thinking 4.3, the second brown along on the Olia site

What do you think? Photo showing current colour on my profile if that helps, although hair is a mess!

4.3 is quite dark, what about 5.3?
It is easier to go darker rather than lighter

Is Olia a permenant colour?

Why not try a semi-permenant to see how it looks, go for something a bit lighter than your natural colour.
I think the highlighted area will take the colour more, but if you hate it, you can wash it out over time.
Then you can decide on permenant colour?

I thought the highlights would end up lighter, so I'm glad I asked!

Does anyone recommend and semi-permanents I could try? Does sound like a good idea...

I think I'm going to try a slightly lighter colour in the semi permanent nice and easy dye. Hopefully won't be disastrous!

4.3 will turn out black. Keep to level 5 for medium brown toned hair. If you want to get rid of highlights then you will have to use a perm colour with some red in it or they may take on a green hue. I personally wouldn't use Nice n Easy on bleached hair. Try Loreal Excellence instead. That one actually covers grey too.

Thanks for the info, will take a look at the Loreal excellence.

Try something like this, even cheaper if you can get it in a Home Bargains. I use it every time I decide to cover over any highlights I stupidly get put in. As with all home dyes it comes out darker than you'd expect.

probably best to use semi.

I'm a but worried about doing it now, I never realised it would be so complicated to get rid of the highlights.

I really don't know whether to go for semi or permanent colour now but will take a look a the suggestions.
