I'm pleased with it. Its a bit choppy, which is very different to my long hair! I need some advice on which product to use on my hair to help my naturally wavy hair achieve its full curl potential (it curls quite nicely with a bit of mousse) without going crunchy or fluffy... What to you recommend? Thanks!

Best curls I got on my similar hair were from a Toni and Guy moulding paste type thing.

I think I just uploaded some pics...

I actually had my hair done at Toni & Guy and they used some curling cream and a bit of some clay thing on it (around £13 each) but it didn't seem to last that well. I have got an Umberto Gianni one (pink squeezy tube thing) and it seems to be just as good but a lot cheaper. There must be something out there! Confused

What an amazing thing you did. I love your new hair.

I find for mine silicone free really helps get my hair nice and wavy as the hair is not weighed down. Tresemme Naturals shampoo and conditioner, a touch of coconut oil on the ends (mine is really dry) plus Naked leave in conditioner and a bit of Naked curl creme.

Your hair is gorgeous!

Well done for raising money for charity by cutting it off...your very brave!

OldRoan · 03/11/2013 19:53

That's lovely! I did the same thing, but cutting off more hair - I went too short and really didn't like it. Lots of people didn't appreciate how emotional I found it, so massive well done you!

Bumble and bumble Brilliantine is wonderful - not cheap, but you only need a tiny bit so it lasts for ages unless you lose it like I did.

SuzySheepSmellsNice · 03/11/2013 20:16

Oh thank you everyone! That was actually after I'd done it myself with the Umberto Gianni stuff
I really thought I would miss my hair, but I am really happy with it and its much less of a faff to wash and dry now. I haven't tried straightening it yet, I might wait until the novelty of curly hair has worn off!
I will definitely be doing some googling and investigating now based on the above advice, I've just had a can from Lidl home-made exquisite piña colada so I love the idea of the coconut oil especially!
Has your hair grown a bit now OldRoan?

boots essentials curl crème- pink in a tub, less than £2,00. never goes crunchy!

oh, and WELL DONE!!

OldRoan · 03/11/2013 21:20

It has thanks! I had just over 12 inches taken off last August, and it has probably grown 5 inches or so (mine has always grown quickly). I'm thinking of doing it again...
