Will I have to wear a swimming cossie (which I don't have) or can I do nice pants and vest?
I only have bikinis which are used in my garden where I can't be viewed Grin.
Really not fancying getting half naked.
Will be having a facial and there is access to saunas, steam rooms etc etc...
Help!!

Swimming gear. Would one of your friends lend you a bikini or bathing suit?

MrsHende · 30/10/2013 23:29

You'll get a dressing gown to wear over your swimming gear, so no one will see you half naked except for the moments between taking off the gown and slipping into the pool.

Definitely swimming gear, you won't want to be in the communal sauna or steam room in your pants Blush

yep, swimming stuff, you'll be spending most of the day wet! take some flip flops too, and there's usually plenty of towels to use there and a robe.

polyhymnia · 31/10/2013 10:55

As others have said definitely swimming stuff, but you'll be covered from public view by the towelling gown provided all the time except when actually in the water.

I have no flip flops or pool type swimming gear. Only garden/sun bikinis which are covered by a vest unless I am out of view behind a screen. Way too round in the middle to wear one of those to a spa. Do I really have to buy a new cossie? What's wrong with black pants and vest?

Done loads of spa days.

Two cossies... one for morning and one for afternoon. You don't want to sit through lunch with a wet cossie under your towelling dressing gown.

A pair of flip flops or similar.

That's all you need to take. Shampoo, conditioner, body lotion etc have always been provided where I've been.

polyhymnia · 31/10/2013 23:47

Have also done lots of spa days and have never seen people wandering round in pants and vest - though I suppose you could wear those under he gown if you don't intend to take it off at all and don't want to swim, jacuzzi, etc - though that is part of the fun.

Would guess you can get lots of cheapo swimsuits at sale prices at this time of year.

No worries on flip flops though - the spa always provides towelling slippers.

thenightsky · 01/11/2013 00:08

Some spas charge for the towelling slippers. I find them too wide and my feet slip straight through. If you've got funny feet like me, take your own.

Def swim gear.

Big fat NO to pants!
