Double cleansing - best products

I need to rethink my skin care routine, mainly because my products are becoming harder and harder to get hold of.

I'm quite keen to try double cleansing and have had a browse through Caroline Hirons blog.

Can anyone recommend any products that are easily available in boots/superdrug?

My skin can be a bit sensitive and I get the odd spot and bump but nothing major. I have a 6 mth old so I currently look tired and very dull looking.

I've been doing double cleansing for about 6 months and it is well worth it. Certainly makes a difference especially with spots. ATM I am using the clinique cleansing balm as first cleanse and then a la Roche posay milk think it is called toll earnie as second wash both off with flannel. Have also used boots organically balm which is ok but I prefer the clinique. La Roche posay has lots so you should be able to find one that suits. If they don't stock in your local boots you can order online for next day store delivery and they don't charge postage

Sorry the Lrp cleanser is toleraine not earnie!

I use alpha h cleansing oil (although its a balm really) then superdrug hot cloth cleanser - either radiance or vitamin E.

You can use the same cleanser for both cleanses if you like, she says it doesn't need to be different ones.

When I'm wearing make up I use a micellar water, Roche Posay at the moment, and Liz Earle hot cloth after

Thanks, I'll go and have a look later.

What toners are people using? Just an ordinary one from the same ranges or is there something I should be looking for?

This is excellent and bought for £2.99 in Savers!

I buy baby wipes and dry them out and use them as facial cleaning clothes to remove make up by adding cleanser or toner to them.

I've only just started double cleansing and it makes a lot of sense really. I wasn't cleansing properly before although I thought I was Blush
I am doing first cleanse with La Roche Posay Micellar water and second with Bravura cleanser (the one with 10% glycolic) I have adult acne and it's hugely improving with the La Roche products.

singaporeswing · 30/10/2013 08:07

I normally cleanse first with an oil, currently MAC for dry skin and then cleanse with an Alpha H cleanser (got a couple on rotation currently).

I also use the Clinique cleansing balm twice. I've recently bought the clarins exfoliating toner she recommends and like it.

A cheeky bump for the evening crew before I go shopping tomorrow.

Can I ask if anyone who had adult acne and started double cleansing saw a big difference in their acne? Does it get worse before getting better?

Lousylo66 · 30/10/2013 21:51

Started with adult acne 6 mths or so ago. Found Glycolic cleanser (by Md preparations ) has worked tremendously but use it after first cleanse and maybe 2-3 times a week.

SirRaymondClench · 30/10/2013 22:36

I had bought some salicylic acid 2% from bravura and just started with that. Lousy did your skin get worse for a bit before it got better?

goodasitgets · 31/10/2013 01:25

I use a mix between
Sanctuary hot cloth cleanser
NSPA (asda) hot cloth
Balmology cleansing balm - smells amazing!
Dermalogica ultra calming cleanser
Dermalogica pre cleanse
Boots botanics cleansing balm - good cheap one

Toner - acid tone I use clarins exfoliating or the bravura glycolic one. Hydrating either a rose water or Serozinc

Eye makeup I have to use one brand of baby wipes as I seem to have ridiculously sensitive eyes
