Desperate to find a moisturiser that will suit very reactive skin .
Used dramatically different for years ..it suited but have little money now.
Have tried Simple and Nivea but skin reacted in blotches .
Any ideas folks? Can go to about £10 ish. Feel so down about it .

Is a new one false economy though? My large sized bottle of DD lotion is half empty and I started it in Feb so it's lasting ages. Sorry if that's not helpful, I don't mean to be offensive.

AuntieStella · 27/10/2013 22:42

Ponds?

BetterWithCheese · 27/10/2013 22:49

I've got a tube of DDM ( I think about 30ml) that I won't be using. Please feel free to PM me and I can post it to you.

willybreeder · 27/10/2013 22:52

I always thought that moisturiser was overrated. Try Body Shops vitamin e range, the oil is good at night

MrsSchadenfreude · 27/10/2013 23:24

Cetaphil, cleanser and moisturiser are excellent for sensitive skin - they are used on those who have just had plastic surgery.

bassetfeet · 28/10/2013 16:33

Thank you all for replying . Helped a lot and am going with Cetaphil .
Give it a try . But have taken all advice on board . Lovely and thank you Smile

I don't know but I can tell you that I was once told that those little yellow bottles cost less than a penny to manufacture (don't know how true that is)
Anyway, have you tried the most basic Oil of Olay, the fragrance-free one without all the whistles and bells? Here is the one I mean (at Boots). Scroll down to see the reviews and, if you liked it and the offer was still on, there's 3 for 2

www.boots.com/en/Olay-Essentials-Beauty-Fluid-Sensitive-Day-Fluid-200ml_1379/

If this is not moisturising enough (my mum has quite sensitive, slightly dry skin and has used the above for years!) there is this:

www.boots.com/en/Olay-Classic-Care-Double-Action-Day-Cream-Sensitive-50ml_1102/

Hope this helps :)

bassetfeet · 28/10/2013 17:35

Thank you leo . Will look out for that . Smile .

YW...hope it works for you. Sometimes there are testers out...so maybe you could squeeze a little into a tub to try first :)
Or, if you react, call Olay and tell them and they're likely to refund you :)

BadgersRetreat · 28/10/2013 17:43

can you get Neutragena 'Moisture' there? It comes in a 'sensitive skin' formula.

I use it on my dry sensitive skin and its v good. My GP recommended it as i get acne and it doesn't block pores

BjorksNorks · 28/10/2013 17:48

Have a look at La Roche Posay, they do lots of different ranges to suit different skin and not silly money either. Cicaplast Baume b5 is fab

Stepawayfromthezebras · 29/10/2013 10:04

I use Boots Botanics skin calming cream for sensitive skin, it's got SPF15 and I can't recommend it highly enough. It's done wonders for my skin

babySophieRose · 29/10/2013 10:19

Boots Botanics are good, not good as Clinique, but natural and after a week or two i am used to my new cream.

SELondonSwede · 29/10/2013 12:55

How about the french pharmacy brands like Avene and La Roche Posay. Often on offers online as well as in Boots. I dont use anything else now.

SpookyRestingFace · 29/10/2013 15:08

I bought Superdrug Vitamin E night cream recently, don't even know why, but it was cheap so thought I'd give it a try because I'm a skincare whore. It's perfectly serviceable!

wasabipeanut · 29/10/2013 15:13

Avene is very good for my and DC's sensetive skin. Interestingly Clinique I find really harsh. Tried it years ago as I received the 3 step system as a gift and it ripped my skin to bits.

wasabipeanut · 29/10/2013 15:14

Boots Botanics facial oil also lovely.

bassetfeet · 29/10/2013 16:03

Thank you so much all Smile Loads of advice and info to get me sorted [and others hopefully with same situation]. Really appreciated .

I am oldish and can get over myself being hardly good looking ....but your skin if it is out of sorts just makes you want to hide or put a post it on your forehead BLOTCHES. or put bag on your head .

Lots to ponder and try in reasonable budget ......am happy bunny .

Def Roche Posay!!! Whole ranges for sensitive skin

BeaLola · 29/10/2013 21:29

Have just started using La Roche Posay and am pretty impressed with it. If you use it and like it look out for offers in Boots etc.

RE CLINIQUE - not sure if it is true but was once told that the mens moisturiser in the grey tube is the same as DD but is just much cheaper to buy ....
