Right then ladies.

I need an honest opinion on this dress
madeinpreston.com/dresses/green-leather-bodycon

I'm 45 size 10 ish but large of nork and 5ft 4

Love the dress but should I be steering more towards a twin set and pearls ?

I'm not sure on the quality as I've not ordered from there ......until today. I'll let you know when my order arrives Wink my only thought on their dresses is that they are just a tad too long.

I've got a dress from there - quality is good but it took absolutely ages to arrive Confused this was a year or two ago though so hopefully they've sorted that out!

Pinupgirl · 25/10/2013 17:03

I came on to recommend the Pretty dress company. Or Deadly is the female-they have some gorgeous wiggle dresses and you can usually find a promo code kicking about.

Nikki1985 · 25/10/2013 17:21

I think that dress looks lovely - I might buy one myself!

Its free delivery and free returns so i guess you have nowt to lose by trying it! x

midlandslurker · 25/10/2013 17:41

Ohhhhhhhhhh lots of lovely stuff suggestions. Think i'll get the credit card out and order a couple - sweetheart you have good taste.

Hopefully I'll find something becoming for a lady of my "advancing years" and if all else fails I'll just neck a few sherries beforhand and go for the old tart look !!

Oh my, I LOVE this. I am a 28FF (although sometimes I think I need a 26G which is rarer than hens teeth!!) OH. MY. GOD. I am too excited.

I don't think I have ever seen a lingerie set with matching suspender for big boobs!!!

Oh my goodness! The dresses on that deadly site are well.........deadly! To my credit card at least! There us about 10 I want to order! How's the sizing / quality?

Nikki1985 · 25/10/2013 19:01

I havent ordered from them, but there's a size guide here: madeinpreston.com/size-guide/

This is my favourite: madeinpreston.com/dresses/tartan-rebel-zip-and-panel-midi-dress

Ive just been paid today so I think I'll order it, its free delivery/returns so I have nothing to lose!

Pinupgirl · 25/10/2013 19:36

The quality of the pinupgirl brand is good sweetheart. I really want the billion dollar baby dress but can't justify it at the moment.

Mattissy · 25/10/2013 19:45

Go for it, I'm 46 and a big believer in I'm only 46, I'm not dead! That said I would avoid the fashion victim look, that dress is classic if you tone down jewellery and wear with plain shoes and bag.

sweetheart · 25/10/2013 20:49

Pin up, any idea on the sizes? According to their size chart I'm a small boobwise, medium waistwise, but a large on my hips (pear shape)

Pinupgirl · 25/10/2013 21:40

As a general rule you should go by your waist size.It will tell you in the size guide if the garment has any stretch.

Follow up - Bit disappointed to have an email from pretty dress co this morning saying my order is going to be 10-14 days! Good job I'm not especially in a hurry - although I have several other dresses arriving way before this so it might do them out of a sale if something else that comes is suitable. I think that's rather a long delivery time to be honest and it would put me off shopping with them again.

Missbopeep · 28/10/2013 11:44

It's not mutton at all- I could see a women in her 60s wearing that if she has the figure- and more importantly the upper arms for it.

Lollypop1234 · 29/10/2013 09:20

Hi, I have just come across this post. Sweetheart - guessing delivery is so long with both Made in Preston and Pretty Dress Co because they are made in the UK. Which means they probably make to order. I know that seems frustrating but I think its great that we can support our own UK manufacturing. I think the designs on these sites are great! Thanks for sharing.

Nikki1985 · 29/10/2013 11:34

Hey, I ordered the tartan zip dress after posting on this thread the other day and I have just had an email saying it has been dispatched today and will be with me tomorrow. So that's only two working days!

I'll let you know how it looks when it arrives!

Nikki1985 · 03/11/2013 21:33

Hey just to let you all know, my tartan zip dress arrived on Wednesday (three working days after ordering) and it is FABULOUS! After reading this thread I did worry that the leatherette might be thin/cheap, but it's not at all it's exactly the same as the leatherette I have in a skirt that I paid £110 for. The tartan fabric is a really heavy good quality, and it's really well made. If I'd paid twice as much I would have been happy with the quality.

I sent them an email at the support address before it arrived, just to check that it would be 5 days as advertised and they replied in less than 30 minutes.

The packaging is also really cool - branded tissue paper and mailbags that can be re-used with a pre-printed returns label provided. I wont be sending my dress back, but if I was it'd be really easy.

Let me know if its the same for other people!

Nikki1985 · 07/01/2014 13:20
