Solution to shoes slipping off?

I have wide feet, narrow heels and a gorgeous pair of high heels that look great on, but slip off as soon as I take a step... Is there any magic solution or do I just need to cut my losses with eBay and concentrate on ankle straps from now on?

You can buy heel grips. I don't know how well they work though. Have a look in Boots or a Timpson type place.

I have the same problem. Heel grips are worth trying, but make sure you get the gel ones rather than the padded suede variety. I can't promise they'll work - I've had mixed success- but I'd have a go before you get rid of the shoes. I'm afraid I've given up and buy ankle strap shoes.

Would tights help?

An insole (either half or full) can help (it pushes your foot further back into the heel iyswim?)

I have a similar problem and found I was actually wearing the wrong size shoes in most brands. Anyway for the shoes that are the right size but still slip off, I find a combination of heel grips and padded inner soles work

I was given a revelatory solution recently. Leather half insoles.

I was told that because of the angle your foot is at in heels, your feet slide down into the shoe- hence the slip off.
The half insole keeps your foot in place and keeps it up against the back of the shoe.

It's worked for me and I'm an awkward wide-fitting-half-size-shoe-wearer Grin

(Clarks leather half insoles are £6 and you can swap them out into different shoes as you shouldn't have to cut them)

Thanks for the replies - will be giving your suggestions a go before I give up Smile
