Boden Cashmere Scarf (for my mum) help!

Hi
Would like to buy my 63-year old mum a really nice scarf for Christmas and considering this one from Boden. She's coming to visit from overseas in two weeks and will have sent her gift wrapped back with her hence being so early with shopping.
Not sure whether it's age appropriate or not though? She does like colourful things. If this isn't right, any suggestions on alternatives?

Meant to say, am thinking the one in navy.

If she's a funky sort of 63 year old then why not.

If she's more of a classic dresser then get her a plain cashmere scarf in a bright colour. Or stripes.

It is a bit mannish for my liking.

Any here you like...

I love it and I'm 55 but it depends what sort of style you mum has. I am quite a casual dresser and don't really like dull things. I think it brightens up a dull winters day, In fact I wish i could afford it myself.

I love it .... Well the navy one especially. You cannot beat a cashmere scarf for warmth and for feeling a little bit of specialness. Dont know what the Boden one is like IRL but I would wait for an offer code , buy and ifnot nice return it.

I do have a couple of M and S plain cashmere ones in red and pink and love them but i think the Boden one looks nicer.

Thanks for the replies. I haven't found any others that are as bright and interesting although the john Lewis ones are also very nice..Think I might chance it if I can hunt down a code

I think the Boden velvet scarf is even nicer - specially the Mulberry colour . Have given very similar versions of this from Boden to friends of 60 ish for Christmas presents in past few years with great success.

I was also going to direct you to John Lewis... Their cashmere snoods are lovely!
OP, does it have to be cashmere? I think this is gorgeous and versatile...interesting and lots of colours to match with... There is a very positive review too. I think there is a 15% off code knocking about somewhere too...

Can't see the review for that Joules one and I was reading it the other night! Weird Hmm
Anyway, if it doesn't have to be cashmere, this Hobbs one is gorgeous (in either colourway) and contains some cashmere:

They have a very pretty soft pink cashmere snood too and would look great with black, charcoal, navy etc:

Also pretty and in the sale (and mostly silk and cashmere)..nice in the grey, navy with hot pink at the ends for a bit of pizzazz!:

That first Hobbs one you linked to - Anne Cat - is in lovely, wearable colours.

Having seen it online, I was all set to buy but, when I tried it on in the shop, found it was huge (and I'm tall and large myself), and very warm/heavy. Sadly I concluded I'd only want to wear it in the very coldest of weather and it wasn't the sort of versatile, everyday scarf I wanted. Unless your mum lives in a very cold climate, of course!

CakeInMyFace · 23/10/2013 20:35

I love the joules one...my mum would like that I think. Hmmm. Decisions! My mum lives in Canada and it does get very cold there and she suffers from reynauds too. She is quite petite though so not sure shout the Hobbs ones.

Can only say the Hobbs one I tried swamped me - and I'm very far from petite!
