Does anyone else find H&M clothes shite?

I think they stretch/get holes really quickly. Especially the kids clothes.

I have a lot of H&M stuff and have no problem with their quality.

And as for sizing starball it's M&S that is shite. I can't find anything that fits there. It's all too large and hang like a sack off me. I'm a size 8 in all of H&M, river island and topshop. H&M even have size 6 online sometimes for things that might be a bit baggy.

Quite often I think the clothes look like rags on the hangers, so how must they look after they've been bought and washed?! Hard to believe they're a sister company of cos, which I adore.

Yes! I posted on here recently bemoaning the quality after a jumper I had worn just twice came apart at the arm seam! It's the third item I've bought from H&M in the last year which has literally fallen apart. DCs' t-shirts always seem to get holey after a while too. Buttons fall off coats.... the list goes on. I think they are great for basics and 'quick fix' fashion but I am not going there for long-lasting wardrobe staples any more.

Their sizing is ridiculous. I bought a size 16 dress online and when I tried it on it wouldn't.go.near.me. I knew to buy a bit bigger than you usually wear from there, I'm actually a size 14.

My size 10 sister couldn't get it on either. I double checked the label in case I'd been sent the wrong size but it was definitely a 16. Seriously, a small size 10 woman couldn't fasten a size 16 dress.

If you google H&M in forum discussions it crops up constantly that their sizing is terrible.

Maybe it's their larger sizes that have terrible sizing? Honestly I buy lots of their stuff and always fit a 8/XS.

I would have had to have bought a size 22 or something in that particular dress. That's a big difference for someone who is a size 14.

Sizes from shop to shop do vary, but not by THAT much! I honestly thought it must have been wrongly labelled but it seems a common problem with them.

Have had lovely baby and kids' clothes from there; however would not touch the adults' stuff again. Washes poorly and bizarrely sized.

Yes there was a thread a while back that seemed to conclude that small H&M sizes were either right or even a bit big, but after size10 they get larger by only half as much as anyone elses

Kids clothes and gym kit is actually pretty good i find. I think the fabrics they use for most women's clothes is pretty shoddy (although i did get a fab black blouse in there on Friday!)

Odd I find their basics pretty solid.

Also he maternity range I'm currently wearing has taken a serious beating and looks fine.

and no one isn't saying that M&S siving isn't cut with those of us who are a bit mature and have had DCs in mind. I'm round of tum and large of arse and still need a belt on M&S jeggins and DD1 has some size 10 black trousers.

DD1 is not a size 10, but nor is she only just a 14 anywhere except H&M.

And Yes, Yes to the clothes looking like rags. the blouse (14 again) she got for works experience had obviously been just chucked out for sale from a crumpled heap in the store room.

I agree their sizing is totally hit and miss. DH bought a pair of smart trousers from there last week in a size 32 waist, but tried a pair of jeans in a 32 that almost fell off they were so big - no standard sizing across the ranges i don't think.

I ignore the adult stuff, it all looks a but rubbish. But the kids stuff is cheap and cheerful and, I find, pretty hard wearing. We have some LOGG long sleeved stripey cotton tees that have been in constant use for three years by my nephew, then ds and have been put aside for dd when she gets bigger and still have loads of life left in them. I have only thrown trousers away because ds has gone through the knees, but them he is 4!

Maternity leggings are excellent too.

I find the quality really variable.

Some things have fallen apart or got holes in really quickly, other things have lasted ages.

You get what you pay for, I suppose.

Zara and M&S are just as bad, IMO.
