What do we think of anthropologie clothes?

I like the fact that some of them are a bit quirky and have lots of colour. But is it very mumsy?

Someone in here once explained it very well - they look gorgeous in the shop surrounded by beautiful things, and then you get them home and realise it's all a bit Per Una.

Too drapey for me. Whoever said that they are a bit per una had it spot on!

Anthropologie stuff looks like it's designed specifically to conceal flaws. We all have them, but stuff like that seems to broadcast the fact that you think you have something to hide. Better to play up your good points, I reckon.

I have extensive experience of anthropologie as I just love the shop itself and some of the homewares. So naturally have also checked out the clothes etc. IMO, 20% of their stuff is genuinely beautiful, and very unusual (and presented beautifully). 40% is a bit meh (yet is inexplicably expensive). 40% looks like it was made in the dark.

As a result, I always keep an eye out for the good pieces, but always, always wait for the sale, as everything gets discounted to 70% off eventually. Also I keep an eye out for perfumes as some of them are collaborations with perfumiers that you can't get anywhere else, and are also smaller bottles so are not as expensive (not great VFM but it's nice to try then without committing too much cash).

The shop is too chaotic...it's like a hipster version of urban outfitters. Their clothes are mostly miss with an occasional hit.

I love Anthropologie clothing. Each season they channel 3 key types of customer/styles: preppy, bohemian & feminine so they clearly have a broader appeal than some might think. Amongst the wafty, silk creations you can always find good quality pared down styles - simple tees, knits & trousers, and loads of natural fibre fabrics......unlike comparable price-point stores such as Whistles which is awash with polyester. It really comes down to styling, which is true of any brand and I certainly wouldn't say it is remotely Per Una .

What I do take issue with is their pricing which is higher than I am happy to pay on certain "basics" items but they always have a good selection at reduced prices in their Regent Street store & they have good online sales too.

The scent at Anthropologie is proper good - a cut above. Interesting, high quality fragrance (I loathe that word) in beautiful bottles, not more expensive than yer Boots.

looks terrible on me, but it is just a body type thing. Too drapey. Also ornamentation and frill doesn't seem to work on me either. Had a very nice scent from them. It is in travel size with a roller ball and the name has rubbed off.
