Best products and electricals for giving root lift and body to fine, straight and thin hair?

I've thin, fine straight shoulder length hair. Looks alright miles thicker with a bit of root lift.

What are your best tips for giving fine flat hair oomph?

heated rollers?

I have some of that tacky root powder stuff which is amazing and really works in my hair but I can't cope with the feeling of it and not being able to brush it properly.

Didn't get on with the BBh! Didn't really do anything for my flat as a pancake hair.

Going to a wedding at the weekend and want to look a but more polished!

TIA

I'm having good results with the new Pantene age defy range.

Bed head hair meringue (I think, yellow & white pump bottle) and VO5 back comb spray work for me; with some back combing too.

Bed head hair meringue (I think, yellow & white pump bottle) and VO5 back comb spray work for me; with some back combing too. totally baked

Thanks - any particular products in that range Foxy?

I've tried bedhead stuff before Tricky but found them to be a bit sticky - is the meringue any less so?

Anyone use heated rollers?

I had heated rollers put in mine for dd's wedding as did she and her bridesmaids. My hair has never looked so lovely. I am having problems with thinning hair/hair loss at the mo, so wouldn't use them regularly but if you just have hair that's fine but not brittle etc, then I could see them being great.

Hair dust.

MrsDesperado · 21/10/2013 15:18

What's hairdust?

Like a powder you rub between your palms then apply to your roots whet you wasn't volume-fab stuff.

Want

TiredMule · 21/10/2013 16:12

Marking my place as I have the exact same problem! I was thinking about getting a bbh but after you saying it doesn't work for you maybe I shouldn't bother ......

valiumredhead · 21/10/2013 16:16

Oh honestly the bbh was the biggest disappointment ever along with a steam cleaner!

FoxyHarlow123 · 21/10/2013 17:05

There's only a couple of products in the Pantene range but its this one m.boots.com/mt/www.boots.com/en/Expert-Collection-by-Pantene-Pro-V-AgeDefy-Advanced-Thickening-Treatment-125ml_1372936/

I got a BBH knock-off in argos for,six quid which does give better results than my normal hair dryer so maybe worth a punt at that price?

mysteryfairy · 21/10/2013 20:59

I have crap thin fine hair and I quite like redken instant bodifier. Expensive but you only need a teeny bit. I do use it with a bbh though.

JoanRanger · 22/10/2013 05:56

Was coming in to recommend that Tresemme powder but I see you don't like the texture. What about Aveda Potion?
