Anyone seen sparkly brown shoes?

...that I can wear to be a bridesmaid?
The other girl is wearing these in brown but I can't do mules, pointy or £65.
So has anyone seen:

a court shoe or slingback
with a 1-3" heel
in brown
with some kind of sparkle on the front
that's not toe-squeezingly pointy?

Have tried the usual suspects (M&S, Next, Debenhams, Topshop, DP, Clarks, Schuh, Jones) with no joy - any other bright ideas?

pleeeease

These are FANTASTIC, and although they say gold, they are brown. kurtgeiger Do try them, they are comfortable and £35 ATM

PS I have them in RED too and yes people here on MN have called me a Whore

Are you near London MrsB they had loads of stuff in the big Top Shop in Oxford Street this morning, in the concessions bit.

MrsBadger · 03/07/2006 15:39

crunchie they're fabulous!
think the 5in heel would beat me though, and I run the risk of upstaging the bride...

Am in Oxon but a trip to London isn't out of the q - what kind of thing did they have? Have quite a big Topshop here but saw nothing on the website...

I bought some sparkly bronze slingbacks from Tesco - might be a bit too informal for a wedding - they're wedge espadrilles. £15 though.

MrsBadger · 03/07/2006 15:45

clocked those Tesco ones yesterday Jackie!
wedding is black tie though so not sure rope soles are going to cut it.

You could choose a brown show or sandal and affix sparkly sequins, hair slide decorations or buttons (lots to choose from at Accessorize, Claire's, John Lewis). I did something similar with plain pink leather slides from Schuh (£30) - sewed on mother-of-pearl buttons all over, they are lovely and get lots of compliments.

snowleopard · 03/07/2006 15:47

show! - that should obviously be shoe!

welshmum · 03/07/2006 15:48

It wasn't so much in the Top Shop range but the fact they've got all those different concessions in one place - think you're bound to find something. They've got Bertie,Office,Faith, Nine West,Pied a Terre and some others as well.

MrsBadger · 03/07/2006 16:08

ooh snowleopard you may be onto something there - had my eye on a pair of brown suede courts and dismissed them when I heard sparkly was the order of the day

Suede should be easy to sew through if you want to add sequins, buttons or hairslide bits. Get a strong upholstery needle first and make the holes, putting a cork on the inside to press into, then sew using strong thread and a more normal needle.

Or get some very good glue, but i wouldn't trust to that myself.

MrsBadger · 03/07/2006 16:19

Actually I can see myself attaching the decorative bits to kirbigrips or similar so I can slide them off afterwards and have the shoes plain or spangly for future use.

Though Nine West is looking hopeful..

The nine west ones are nice! But you could also get that effect with nice sparkly/flower hairsldes which you could just clip on, as long as the deco bit covers the slide bit.

JackieNo · 03/07/2006 19:11

MrsB - they do sell them - although this is an American site.

MrsBadger · 03/07/2006 19:29

am thinking of these...

Ooh yes - they'd be lovely on the brown suede courts (and you'd get much more wear out of the shoes, I reckon, if that's a consideration).
