So, turns out plucking your eyebrows whilst watching emmerdale without a mirror is not a good idea. I'm missing half one side!!
what do I need to go out and buy tomorrow to draw them on with and is there a fool proof way of doing it without looking like a clown?!?

Thank you oh wise ones!!

Buy an eyebrow pencil tomorrow and go on a Youtube makeup tutorial for drawing in spare eyebrows. Little feathery strokes are the best way to do it, then build up very gradually with a bit of MATTE brown eyeshadow (assuming that you don't have blonde brows.) Then use a cotton bud with make-up remover/ foundation to define underneath so it doesnt look mucky.

tracypenisbeaker · 18/10/2013 22:12

Spare? I meant sparse.

Damnautocorrect · 18/10/2013 22:16

Thankyou, thankyou thankyou! I will hit the shops & give it a go whilst wearing a fetching side parting over my face

Youtube make-up tutorials are really handy at times like this lol

ArtemisatBrauron · 18/10/2013 22:30

No tips but lots of sympathy - I've just been de-eyebrowed by a VERY overenthusiastic eyebrow waxer...

gaggiagirl · 18/10/2013 22:31

Rimmel eyebrow pencils are excellent. Great price and longevity.

Damnautocorrect · 18/10/2013 22:47

Brilliant, thankyou, I was hoping since I've a tenner in my purse some of the cheap ones might be ok.
I've just tried with a lip liner (only brown pencil I had) and it looks awful!! Hoping proper eye stuff will look better!!

Artemisat, oh no! Will you be sporting some lovely drawn on ones too?
I went back to doing mine myself after a dodgy threading incident... Although I looked better after that than now!!!

I prefer to use a powder not a pencil.

I use Maycheer dark brown which I buy from ebay but you could try this

ArtemisatBrauron · 18/10/2013 23:56

I bought a pencil to try but I'm rubbish at eye make up so not holding out much hope... I'll just have to look like an angry bird for another few weeks til they grow back Sad they will grow back, right?

Ohwhatwitcheryisthis · 18/10/2013 23:58

As s child of the 70s I have very non existent brows. Agree powder is the way forward. I got s benefit kit from the Bay of E until dd nicked it got Avon one-rubbish. im going to invest in that eyelash growing stuff, apparently works on brows.

MikeWazowski · 19/10/2013 00:02

Damn, they will grow back, get the best pencil you can afford, keep it sharp and use very light feathery strokes - you'll be surprised and pleased with the results

SundaySimmons · 19/10/2013 08:59

You can also buy semi permanent fibres.

I have read excellent reviews on the Internet about silk fibre lash. Not tried it as I am happy with my powder.

Or cheaper version on ebay

Damnautocorrect · 19/10/2013 13:06

Ok armed with my dark brown pencil I've just given it a whirl, close up they look awful from a distance ok.
They didn't have the powder, would that help?

MikeWazowski · 22/10/2013 08:51

The powder can help to blend, a dark eyeshadow might work, apply very lightly, a good eyebrow powder is expensive, if you're not going to need it long term it might be a waste of money. If you're near a good department store it might be earth a trip to one of the makeup counters to see what they've got, and the assistants can teach you how to apply it as well.

Damnautocorrect · 22/10/2013 14:30

Stupid blooming eyebrows, ive mostly been wearing a side parting so far this week to hide them.
Loving the angry birds analogy!
I think it's the colour that's the problem, I bought dark brown but its a bit orangey so I think I need a different make.

Thank you all you lovely ladies for your fabulous advice.

I blame Marlon Dingle, he makes me want to pluck my eyebrows out.

Pinupgirl · 22/10/2013 18:25

I get my eyebrows threaded and tinted but find the tint fades quickly. As my brows are fair for inbetween times I use soap and glory brow tint. One end is a brush with a tint on it that you paint on and then the other end is a pencil that you use to fill in.

I use the blonde shade and I love it. Think it was £9 so in budget for you!

WhoKnowsWhereTheSlimeGoes · 22/10/2013 18:40

Rimmel have a good black/brown eyebrow pencil that isn't orangey - an awful lot of eyebrow products for brunettes are too orange.
