What I won't be wearing this AW. (Big boob and bum issues...)

I am a work in progress. Lots of weight to lose and torn between wearing the same old three outits i currently do until I can fit my lovely old wardrobe, or buying a few new things which might make me feel better and therefore more motivated. I'm an 18 on a good day but post-section tummy looks here to stay which rules out anything super clingy just now. Also will be breastfeeding until the New Year at least so maybe I'm doomed to stay in the huge tops til then.

So what are the capsule wardrobes of the larger ladies this year? I actually only want to get down to a 14, and look ok in short dresses at size 16. I have lovely stuff in these sizes. But am totally lacking in confidence to dress whatever the hell shape I have going on right now! I'm on mat leave until April and even then wear a uniform at work so all my clothes can be 'off duty'.

The best advice is to start with a good bra I know. But am stuck with my m and s nursing monstrosities for the time being. Maybe spanx will help.... And a pair of jeans that actually fit. Where are they?! Also all my nursing tops are verbaudet tents and all my other tops are long sleeved tees. There must be more out there...

Make me over!

If m&s fitted you for the nursing bras they may well be the wrong size... Re nursing tops jojo maman are good (and sell afterwards well on eBay). The vest down top up thing is a classic mn nursing solution, but it does work and provide tummy coverage.
Higher waisted jeggings from m and a might work with longer tops? Clarks have some great biker boots (the national sugar are very generous siZed calf)
Tunic tops with crossover top maybe? Fatface have some, but it depends on your style... Big scarf doubles as nursing cover...

Jeggings? I would love to think I could pull them off. Will need to get brave trying on new styles I think. And take along one of my brutally honest pals. I have a lovely jojo striped dress which absolutely does not fit (yet) so good to know I can ebay it if needs be. Scarves are great I agree!
Thanks for your reply!

I wear m&s jeggings with longer length tops. Sometimes with this cardigan(in grey) belted over it. Yeah the cardigan is cheap but it's soft and flattering

Occasionally striped long sleeve long length tops
The rest of the time I am in dresses with Falke leggings, either ballet pumps or flat boots. Tend to stick to v neck dresses and use a waist belt. Sometimes with a vest under depending how low the v is

Thanks again... I live in cardis too and love dresses but not great for breastfeeding just now. Have ordered a skirt in a size that fits (ie: coming out of denial). Have never got my head around belts other than low lung wide ones of yore. I just look like I'm bursting out from above and below! But will hit the shops tomorrow and attempt jeggings, a belt, and an array of never-before-considered tops.
Thanks!

Oh I forgot I have a cord skirt. It's short ish and I wear that with flat boots, opaque tights and v neck tops. Comfy but feels smarter sometimes

How old is baby? How established is bf? Only, I went back to underwired bras ASAP as I have a disgusting uni boob in bf bras. Yuck. They've pretty much stayed the same size since feeding became established.
Get a couple of good bras, some tummy tuck pants and a few plain vests. The pants help smooth things out and the vests protect modesty when bf.

I like Dorothy Perkins Eden jeggings in various colours. They hold everything in but are soft enough to be comfortable.
Layers are your friend! Vest, top and cardigan, vest, sweater and coat, all mean you can take a layer off if you get too hot without feeling exposed.

I've got a couple of jersey blazers which are comfy but smarten up my outfits.

Leggings and jersey dresses.

There's not much you can't wear, have confidence! I bet you look ace Wink

Aww shucks thisismenow that's actually nice to hear!
Will check out DP... And although I have many vests they could do with being longer and not lansinoh stained! He's nearly 4 months so pretty established. Did you just use normal underwires or nursing ones? Can't find them anywhere in shops. Am loving feeding him so if I can get rid of uniboob I'd be delighted and more likely to keep it up.

asgoodasitgets I love opaque tights and flat boots, and will love my old cord skirt when it fits me again. Have no v necks though... This shopping spree is certainly justified, if unaffordable!!
