I have £50 and my Primarni specials from last year are falling apart

Knee high flat black boots with maybe a hint of biker but not too s+m please to go with skinnies or denim skirt or jersey wrap dress and that will take a lot of walking. Am i delusional?

No.

You need to look second hand for good leather boots.

Don't ignore any just because they need a re-heel or re-sole.

It's definitely the way to go.

Thank you, there's an excellent cobbler in town who's already done my cheapies but it was £8 to reheel and they now need soles... On a £20 pair of boots Hmm

Should i be stalking ebay? What should i search for?

Thank you Thanks

Oh poo.

second try

MrsHelsBels74 · 16/10/2013 17:51

Nope still doesn't work? Anyway they're Brantano Emilia Luca x £46 if you want to try to search.

Just put in leather boots and your size.

They don't go dirt cheap but a lot cheaper than you would pay new.
Look for ones with a few angles.

Beware low quality leather or faux leather - you can usually see by looking what's decent.

With good leather,a few scuffs can be polished out easily.

I agree that re heeling a cheap pair of boots definitely isn't worth it.

I bought my favourite boots at the moment in a charity shop. They are real leather Clarkes knee high boots. Cost £5.99 and I then got them re heeled and soled (worth the soling in my eyes and they needed re-heeling) for £17.50 - but I could have got away with just re heeling if I'd chosen to.

I wore them a lot last Winter and I'm back in them again.I can see there's a load more wear in them. They'd have been about £80 new I expect? So I'm pleased for less than £25.

Amazon Warehouse deals- but you do have to trawl as they don't let you select by size.

TKMaxx- see online for more variety.

Ebay

VerySmallSqueak · 16/10/2013 17:59

The year before I bought some really chunky mid calf boots in a really good quality brown leather from a charity shop for £7.99 but they didn't need the cobblers, and my dh bought me some beautiful handmade knee high soft leather boots from ebay for an undisclosed amount as a present (but I know they would have not been as expensive as in the shops - less than £50 I'm sure)

I'm still wearing those too.

I like my boots Smile and I can have a collection for all weathers and outfits this way!

Matalan had some leather ones for £40. I normally buy at the end of the season from Clarks, Debenhams etc when they are reduced to £15-30 with 70% off. No good for now but worth thinking about come spring

Episode · 16/10/2013 18:19

Zara?

Specialbrew · 16/10/2013 18:38

TKMaxx had great Timberland boots for £55. Not quite the style you are looking for, but they have a tonne of well priced boots at the moment

ShreddedHoops · 16/10/2013 20:12

Second vote for Shoeaholics - my first port of call for any footwear atm. Got some fab Carvela ankle boots last year reduced from £160 to £40, and some Kurt Geiger riding boots £180 down to £45 Smile

PurplePidjin · 16/10/2013 22:35

Loads to look at, thanks! I have stuff to return to Matalan, which is next door to Brantano so will go an play - TKMaxx is there too but they're hit and miss on what's in stock.

I have Doc Martens x2, and some ancient Caterpillars. They look at bit odd with a frock Wink might dig them out for wearing with skinnies though - purple and teal is ok, right? Hmm

I love charity shops but trawling them with a wriggly 11mo on my back is not as fun as it could be.
