Does anybody have PCOS and one of theses chimes. I'm seriously considering one but worried it would be a waste of money due to my PCOS.

Can anybody give me any advice?

I don't have PCOS but I did buy the Philips Lumea a while ago.

I brought it back. Two reasons: 1. It's not permanent (you have to redo it every couple of weeks) and 2. for me it was more cost-effective to get IPL treatment through a deal. I work in central London though so loads of those kind of deals available.

The Lumea costs a fortune and I paid about £300 for 6 IPL sessions (full legs + nether regions).

Miss HC- the reason I'm interested in the lumea is that you get your top ups included in the price of the machine. If I paid for an ipl course if keep having to pay for top up sessions, which would be more frequent due to my PCOS.

Hi KosherBacon, my daughters have PCOS both affected by excess hair one is worse than the other. The daughter who is worst affected was referred by her GP to a dermatologist who in turn referred her for laser hair removal. This was carried out over a two year period and on the NHS (we live in NI) it depends on your hair growth cycle how often your laser sessions are but in this case it was every 10 /12 weeks over a two year period.Hair is dramatically reduced, however, not gone completely. Dd still attends for private laser sessions at a cost of £70.00 per session every three months to have downy (but plentiful IYSWIM) hair removed. Therapist uses a medical grade laser machine and it really has been a lifesaver for DD. IMO you should have hair lasered professionally and perhaps consider a Lumea when hair has been sufficiently reduced.
