ankle boots - uncomfortable ankles. Any options other than returning them ?

I bought low ankle boots which stop right on the ankle - not above, not below, right on the ankle. They're not comfortable when walking. Do I need to return them or is there something that I can try ? They're nubuck / goretex.

Would an insole work to lift your foot up just a little bit?

My new ankle boots were a bit uncomfy to start with but have softened up now and are fine.

Thanks- I've tried an insole but that squashes the top of my foot against an internal seam.

I hope they do improve like yours did. Meanwhile I'll try them at home in car I have to return them.

Heel risers? Might lift them enough to move away from the sore point? Or compeeds forever more...!

Why don't you stretch them with a book wedged into them crossways, or something?

Or you could wear them with extra socks?

Or when wearing them, don't lace them right up, but rather leave the top lace holes empty.

I would return them if I were you. They look as if they were designed y

Sorry!!

To be comfortable walking boots & if they aren't now they won't become comfortable.

Send them back! I bought a lovely pair of camper wedge sandals 4 years and I still can't wear them, still love them and can't part with them but they rip my ankles to pieces...i now ask every sale assistant who tries to convince me to buy a pair of ill fitting shoes by saying they'll stretch and become comfortable, whether they'll refund in a couple of months if they don't, the answer is always an unsurprising no!

Eastpoint and snowlie are the voices of reason. Smile

Thick socks help.

If anyone has seen shoes or boots that have a supportive sole and suit skinny jeans (my first autumn/ winter out of bootcuts), ideally not black..... Otherwise I may have to fashion some sort of ankle protector sock. Could this be a moneyspinner?
