Really really big boobs - feel down and don't know what to where

34h or hh depending on fit/style. Size 14 on the bottom so not skinny or slim. Struggling with what to wear. I have just changed jobs to a student health visitor so I was used to a uniform. Now have uni days and community days. Tunic tops/tights work well but I can't wear these every day. What to put on top of jeans?

I do have the pepperberry book but think its a bit frumpy (I am 42). Are there are recommendations people can make from there? Would like done style tips please!

Pepperberry can be a bit frumpy but you can't go wrong with some of the basics, the classic shirts are great with dark jeans and come in different colours and patterns, the cardigans can be really nice as well, you could wear with one of the inbuilt bra-vests underneath and de-frump with a statement necklace and good ankle boots. The wrap jersey top with the knot on is really nice and flattering (I have it as a dress) and I like the look of the peplum top in the current collection although I havent seen it on.

Personally I'm not a fan of most of the dresses but there is a jersey faux-wrap style they do in a couple of colourways each season with a spanx-type lining that is really flattering.

AnythingNotEverything · 13/10/2013 19:19

I was a 32g pre pregnancy, and dressed my boobs in scoop neck tees/vests with round and high neck cardis, or wrap dresses from Monsoon, M&S, or White Stuff.

A scarf hanging down vertically can be flattering too, and add colour and interest to an otherwise plain outfit.

I think it's important to show that you have a waist, and that you have two boobs, not just a huge pillow under your chin Grin

Have a look at Polish company BiuBiu. They don't have a massive range but I've bought a few bits from there (size 16 - 38F) and they're great. Cheaper than Pepperberry even taking into account postage to the UK.

StatisticallyChallenged · 13/10/2013 19:36

I have the Pepperberry peplum top and it's really nice on. I also like tops with some ruching and a cowl - like this. I also have slightly longer ones which I wear with jeans - either looser ones which I belt with a slim belt, or ones which are still quite fitted

My day to day wardrobe is dresses though - I'm a 30HH and about a 14 with a small waits and bit of a tummy (understatement!) and I feel far happier in dresses and I can generally get them to fit better although I do also wear lots of belts!

Fashion tips for large breasts!

Wrap dresses have firmly entrenched themselves as being must-haves in many wardrobes, and with good reason. Wrap tops and dresses work wonders for bigger busts as they separate the breasts and enhance their appearance.

Avoid high necklines.
This is probably one of the most important fashion tips for women with large breasts. Wearing high necklines can lead to the appearance of a ‘uni-boob’ which is flattering to no one. For this reason, it’s generally best to avoid high, rounded necklines and turtlenecks.

Avoid halter necks.
Much like high necklines, halterneck styles can have an unflattering effect if you have a larger bust. Halternecks can make already large breasts look bigger than they are and it’s often harder to wear a suitable supportive bra underneath.

Wear scoop and v necks.
I previously mentioned the idea of the ‘uni-boob’, and a good remedy to this is to wear scoop or v-neck tops. These necklines provide an open expanse of skin between your neck and bust, creating the appearance of a smaller bust.

Get properly fitted so you are wearing the right bra. Are you sure you are a 34? It seems quite small if you are a 14 bottom? Invest in a a good minimiser bra.

Sleeve length.
The length of your sleeve can make all the difference when it comes to enhancing the appearance of your bust. If you’ve got a larger bust, opt for three quarter sleeves as these are generally more slimming than short or sleeveless styles.

Wear thicker straps.
If you’ve got a bigger bust, avoid spaghetti straps at all costs. They’ll only exaggerate the appearance of your bust. They don’t provide much support either. If you do want to wear a singlet type top, then opt for one with thicker, more supportive straps as they will act to balance out your bust.

Wear fitted jacket.
This fashion tip for women with large breasts is about choosing the right kind of jacket. Women with larger busts should steer clear of boxy or bomber jackets and instead opt for a fitted, streamlined style that’s nipped in at the waist.

Coats.
If you’ve got a larger bust, stick to single breasted rather than double breasted jackets. Double breasted jackets add bulk to your bust, whereas single breasted styles can have a slimming effect on the body.

AVoid wide lapels.
When it comes to fashion tips for women with large breasts, it’s all about reducing bulk around your chest area. Coats or jackets with wide lapels can add unnecessary bulk to your top half, exaggerating the appearance of your bust. Stick to single breasted styles with minimal fussiness.

Knitwear.
The larger your bust, the more you may want to steer clear of chunky knits. Chunky knits can add extra bulk and make you appear larger than you are. Instead, opt for finer knits that will minimise bulk.

Avoid baggy styles.
Loose or baggy styles of clothing can swamp your figure and make you appear larger than you are. This is doubly troubling for those with large breasts. Wear clothes that are more fitted to help create a slim, streamlined appearance.

Cinch in your waist.
Cinching in a dress or a top with a waist belt may not be the first thing that comes to mind when it comes to fashion tips for women with large breasts, but you can make it work. Instead of belting in a flowy or voluminous top or dress, opt for one that is fitted around the bust to create a streamlined effect.

Bag size.
Choosing the right sized bag can have a tremendous effect on the appearance of your bust. For women with large busts, opt for medium to large sized handbags as these create a sense of balance. Tiny or compact bags can further exaggerate the appearance of your bust.

Layered look.
For women with larger breasts, you often find that you have to buy clothing a size up to accommodate for a larger bust. If you’ve got a dress that seems a bit too billowy as a result, work this season’s hottest trend by wearing collared shirt over the top and tying it at the waist to create a cinched and cropped effect.

Dark clothing.
Darker coloured clothing is generally more slimming than lighter coloured clothing. As a result, wearing darker colours on your top half can have the effect of reducing the appearance of your bust. Incorporate light or bright colours into your outfit on your bottom half or in the form of accessories.

Short necklaces
Long necklaces have a tendency to sit awkwardly over a large bust. When it comes to this fashion tip for women with large breasts, stick to shorter chains or collar style necklaces.

Obviously, I got all the above off of the Internet.

My own personal tip, is to celebrate what you have. Big boobs and flat chests are the same as curly and straight hair, we all want what the opposite to what we have!

Walk tall, posture is very important as big boobs can pull you forward and hunch your shoulders. Learn some yoga moves to help with posture.

Wear a night bra so that your breasts are always supported and you can sleep well.

If you let your breasts weigh you down, you will feel down and look miserable and no one wants to look at a miserable face, so eyes will be drawn to your chest!

Smile, be positive, wear clothes that you feel comfortable in and that you like and people will focus on your face and notice your confidence, not your breast size!

Remember, a lot of women are incredibly envious of a voluptuous figure and you sound absolutely beautiful. X

Op,I feel your pain!As a 34J (with small waist ffs) it's a nightmare finding clothes that don't look daft or frumpy, especially with current fashions!

As for Pepperberry,I'm 31 and think most of their clothing is incredibly frumpy.I have been tempted by the casual blazer though

AnythingNotEverything · 13/10/2013 21:38

Sunday - those are mostly great tips, but 34 isn't small for a size 14. I would actually wonder if the OP was a 32, but people who say they're a size like a 34H have generally been fitted by an expert (ie not at M&S).

Are you one of those ladies who thinks you're a 34a?

Also, most ladies with ample bosom avoid minimiser bras and go for a well fitting supportive bra, as that's what makes you look smaller, slimmer and puts your boons in the right place. Minimiser bras are contraptions of torture and very old fashioned IMO.

MrsPatrickDempsey · 13/10/2013 21:53

Thanks for taking the time to reply - really useful tips. I am a 34 courtesy of bravissimo. Need to work on that small waist........!

As the owner of 34HHs myself, I avoid wrap tops like the plague. They make each breast even more defined, and make me look as though I'm auditioning for a 1950s pin-up poster. I also take care with scoop and v-necks - a neckline that gives slight cleavage on a smaller bust equates to a colossal valley on a larger bust. I stay away from belts - they emphasise the bust line and make it look as though my boobs are resting on the belt, but I do have a short waist and an apple tum.

What works for me are:
cowl & drape necks, I recently bought this

dresses that are fitted with a slight skater line - this would work well on me, or this

and over jeans, I would wear either a short tunic, or a fitted shirt with a camisole underneath.

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 13/10/2013 22:19

I'm looking at some of the fat face tunics at the mo.I'm wearing 'pretty' T' s at the mo,not tight but not loose!I find that wearing an open cardi, draping down the sides not over boobs, seems to soften the effect whereas if I wore most tops without them my chest would stand out more?I could just be being daft though.

Fitted shirts/blouses look good but it's getting them to fit that is the problem.I used to have a pretty pale yellow tie back one that looked fab.Haven't found any since though

StatisticallyChallenged · 13/10/2013 22:27

Would say 34 is totally normal for a 14 bottom, I'm a 30 backed size 14.
