I can't use the S&G one because of the smell. Makes me feel sick.

spicynaknik · 13/10/2013 19:24

Having tried pretty much every cream suggested on this thread, I think the best hand cream I have ever used is Blue Lagoon Silica and Algae Hand Cream although it is expensive and not widely available. It seems to have a lasting effect so even if I have forgotten to use it for a day or so my hands don't dry out instantly as with other creams. It also stopped the back of my hands looking like scaly sun damaged old ladies hands and make them look younger.

Came on to say body shop Hemp but see i've been beaten too it. Always liked the Soap & Glory one too but the body shop one can withstand more handwashing and baby wipes and still feel like its working.

BookTart · 13/10/2013 19:30

It isn't very glamorous and it smells like medicine, but if your hands are really dry then Lotil is really amazing, and incredibly cheap too. It is usually in the pharmacy bit of Boots rather than the hand cream section, so it is quite medicinal but very effective.

Neutrogena

TallulahBetty · 13/10/2013 19:46

Another vote for Soap and Glory Hand Food.

TallulahBetty · 13/10/2013 19:48

Whoops posted too soon. Hand Food is amazing, smells lush AND actually is non-greasy, unlike many that claim to be but still leave that film of grease.

PrimalLass · 13/10/2013 19:48

Actually I forgot about OPI Avoplex.

itsonlyme85 · 13/10/2013 20:39

Im a hairdresser so my hands take a battering everyday, i use a neutrogena one its really good

bluebump · 13/10/2013 20:43

Another vote for L'Occitaine. I got Marie Claire this month just to try a different one.

I really like the Weleda Sea Buckthorn one too.

AllDirections · 13/10/2013 20:45

Body Shop hemp for me too

ChablisLover · 13/10/2013 20:46

Decleor is lovely and udder cream (from amazon) is great too.

I use a 5% urea cream on my hands due to contact dermatitis which is excellent.

janeyjampot · 13/10/2013 21:03

I like Soap & Glory Hand Food as well, but Avon Care Glycerine Hand & Nail cream is really good, too, and incredibly cheap.

MegTheCat · 16/10/2013 17:43

Neutrogena Norwegian formula is the only one that works for me. Frequent application also helps. I have about 6 tubes on the go, mostly with tops left off, all over the house, in the car and in my bag. I just wish you could get it in a pump so it was quicker to put on.

Fuckitthatlldo · 16/10/2013 19:43

Grin at Aveda Hand Relief.

I used to have a mini of that in my handbag. Never failed to crack up my rather puerile humoured boyfriend.

Pinupgirl · 16/10/2013 19:50

I bought the marie Claire to get the free L'occitane hand cream. I got the rose one and while it smells lovely I don't find it that moisturising. Am going to try the Soap and glory one.

hollyisalovelyname · 16/10/2013 20:51

MegTheCat I agree. Neutrogena wirks on really bad, gnarly hands like mine ( sadly) - I've tried Body Shop Hemp, Clarins, Hope and Glory, Aveda Hand Relief- all lovely but not the ultimate hand cream.
Ikea's hand cream is awful - I was hopeful Smile

Littlepumpkinpie · 16/10/2013 23:37

Gloves in a bottle is very good too some larger boots stores sell it.

Showtime · 16/10/2013 23:44

I still use Atrixo, but best treatment for hands is to always rinse soap off very well, and use handcream every single time.

50shadesofmeh · 17/10/2013 00:39

Aveeno is fantastic , it stays on even once you wash them . L' occitane shea is great too.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 17/10/2013 07:53

I bought Marie Claire the other day to try the L'Occitane one. It's good, but personally I prefer Aveeno.

Others I have tried recently are Garnier SOS, Flexitol and O'Keeffes working hands (or something like that), Nivea Q10. Aveeno still my favourite and lasts through hand washing on me as well.

carrie74 · 17/10/2013 08:35

I have terrible hands, I find the following the best (and have tried pretty much everything Boots had to offer):

L'Occitane Shea butter (I think it has a blue label);
Aveeno (fine for in between, not good enough when painful);
I've used Flexitol for feet and cuticles, and both products have been excellent. So on that basis, I suspect it would also be great for hands (but when I used the foot one on my hands in desperation, it stung like buggery).

horcruxmanzini · 17/10/2013 10:06

I was given a tube of Emma Hardie hand cream and it's amazing - lovely smell, long lasting moisture. Not cheap, but it's on my christmas list now, and I'm hoping QVC will do an offer.

hollyisalovelyname · 17/10/2013 18:23

Wynken I used the O'Keefes Working Hands - it's good.
I wish all hand creams had a flip top lid. Your hands are all greasy and you have to put the lid back on. Yuck

Fluffycloudland77 · 18/10/2013 07:19

Years ago oil of Olay did a hand cream in a pump, it was £5 then but it was amazing.

Then they stopped making it Angry bastards.

You would wake up with hands that looked lovely after using it. I've never found anything so effective for fine wrinkles, age spots, skin tone.

Bastards.
