What boots should I buy next?

I've recently had to throw out heaps of clothes and boots that were done, one pair of boots were 12 years old Blush. So now I have (excluding the namesake apparel!) two pairs of duo boots. Flat, brown knee high riding boot style. Great with skinny jeans etc, but no use with most of my jeans which are long, so need a heel. My other pair, also Duo (skinny legs!), are black leather knee high, with a 2" heel and a squared toe. They are winter work boots, I really like them with skirts etc, but under jeans the heel makes them a bit Mums Boots.

I think what I now need are a pair of cowboy-boot style day wear, and spiky heeled smarter boots.

I quite like these although would like a squarer toe if I was being really fussy. But then, any time we head out at night I reach for my spiky boots, which aren't there any more.

I want both styles but can't justify them just now. Help me decide. I know I'd wear the flatter ones more, but then have other options if I really need them as have loads of casual footwear, though they are all a bit too low heeled. I wouldn't wear the spiky heels so much, but have less options as open toed sandals are not great in a Scottish winter Wink.

Any words of wisdom?

Red Or Dead Bounty boots....in black

then post them to me please

I ordered those ones from next, they had a lovely squishy sole which was comfy but they aren't leather and I thought they were expensive for synthetic .

MuddyWellyNelly · 13/10/2013 11:33

Lucysmam, sure what size? Grin. They are a bit too high and also too tall though, I want shorter ones this time. They are lovely though.

Bishboschone would the synthetic part mean they are waterproof? . They are a bit vague about the material.

Probably , they were nice and a good imitation

lucysmam · 13/10/2013 13:00

oh, Sad ! I go in Schuh every time I go to town just to look at them Grin They're fab!

MuddyWellyNelly · 13/10/2013 21:01

Ooh I like these too. Except JLs describe them as trendy Hmm

They are lovely , would rather pay the extra for leather .

MuddyWellyNelly · 13/10/2013 21:21

Yes true, and I have a £20 voucher for JLs so they aren't actually much more :)

TBH I don't like the ones you've linked to.

I am a DUO customer and think they have some quite nice ankle boots this year if you can wear a chunky heel.

Also- Dune and Clarks have a nice selection and I find Dune a neat fit.

In your shoes I'd buy 2 pairs- one 'main' pair and a cheaper spiky pair.

chicaguapa · 13/10/2013 22:54

Do you like these at Clarks? Cowboy style with a heel.

MuddyWellyNelly · 13/10/2013 23:30

Californiastar those are very nice but (I'm being very fussy!) the heel isn't quite high enough for a lot of my jeans.

Missbopeep is it the first ones you don't like? I'm preferring the JL ones now. Nothing on duo quite stood our for me at the moment, other than maybe McQueen, but they are a little bit longer than I thought i wanted, and again heel says 3.5cms so maybe too low. I saw a few nice Dune pairs but they were all a bit pricier. You are right though, I think I can get off with a cheap pair of "dressy" boots.

The Clarks pair are nice but I don't want suede (I'm in Scotland, it rains a lot!) and I also want ankle boots as I want them to go under jeans and I think they would make the leg bulge.

I should probably have said I'm as fussy as a fussy fuss pot when it comes to boots. Oh dear.

Don't worry! I'm having problems myself finding some boots that meet my requirements too! Mine need to be brown/tan, able to be worn with tights & denim skirts, skinnies, under non skinnies, have a 3" or 4" block heel and not be overly cowboy or biker. I have a lovely Office pair that are 2 years old now and I can't find anything I like as much.

I want the encke snake black!
