Hairdresser has fucked up my"ombré" hair. What do I do now?!

I went in, asked for a quote ($160) then booked.

I was in there from 1pm until after 4.
I could see the colours weren't what I wanted at all. The top was far too dark and the bottom was like a muddy brown(with a hint of green)
It also doesn't blend like it should.

It's patchy, like a home dye job!

I usually don't like confrontation, but I was so miserable the whole time in there.

I'm pregnant, have morning sickness and bad back.
So to sit there all that time was really hard.
(Plus hairdresser STANK of fags, making me feel sick, and when I left I stank of them too!!..)

Anyway, I said I wasn't happy and she eventually said I could come back in on weds to have it corrected.
(Just the ends)

Then tried to charge me $300.

I told her what the other woman had charged and in the end (I was desperate to get out) I paid $220.

At 9 am this morning I had a call from the owner trying to get back the remainder of the money.
Telling me it was my fault for not asking agin how much it would be when I was in there for so long.

It got a bit heated.
I said "I am not a hairdresser! That is why people get quotes" etc

In the end she completely backed down and said I was right.

But now I have to go in on weds and face them!!

WWYD?

So sorry it's all gone wrong Sad. Bad hair makes you feel like shit and especially when it was supposed to be a nice treat.

Whilst everyone who says demand your money back is correct, I think you are right in that you have to take the longer term view on this. It's a small place, you have to live there, and you don't want to screw things up for yourself. Going back and demanding your money back, or getting third parties involved is probably not the best way to go about it. You're not chickening out, you are being sensible and picking your battles.

It sounds like it was beyond their capabilities. Trying to get them to do an all-over colour is probably the best solution.

Really hope it works out!

Well I went in, and she just did a block colour.

So it's just brown. It's still a it TOO dark for me, but it's the best they could do.

At least it looks shiny again!

Thank god, the hairdresser didn't smoke today, so that was great.

And the owner wasn't in! So no funny awkward feeling.
Thanks for all your tips :)

It should fade, especially if you are in the sunshine!

Glad you are in better spirits.
