I am curious about these type of devices, but I don't know anyone who has used one. Fifty is looming and I want to perk my face up, so any tips please!

The Tua Trend is better, in my opinion. More user friendly. The slendertone didn't suit my face shape and wouldn't stay put, so I couldn't use it hands free. The Tua Trend is a small wand attached to a wire, that you hold up to various points on your face, and whilst it's not hand free, I find it much more comfortable and easy to use. Just half an hour a day, whilst I'm watching tv. You have to be consistent though, obviously.

The results are subtle, but I stopped using it for a few months and looked more tired and definitely more saggy. It's the kind of thing that you don't realise what good it's doing until you stop. It does more for me than any cream ever has.

Ooh. Sounds good then. I am off to google it. I keep meaning to do the Eva Fraser face exercises but it seems such a faff that I never get round to it. I am more likely to use a machine i think. .

Had a quick look on Amazon. It says not ok with metal pins/plates. I have a fixed brace on my teeth, I wonder if that rules it out or not? I suppose I will have to email the manufacturer.

I have been using Slendertone Face for around a year and a half and I love it. Its a bit of me time. I use it to perk up my face as it stimulates the blood flow and I also use it as a relaxing facial massage when I am stressed at the end of the day. But mainly I use it to hold back the ravages of time. Its great because you can multi task while using it or you can just put on the headset while you are watching telly... then lie back and dream of George Clooney whilst actually you are exercising your face. What's not to like?

So does it really make a difference then? I emailed tua trend re the brace but had a very vague email back saying I could use it on other areas, but obv was no planning on using it on my teeth...just worried about the metal in the brace. I don't want to electrocute my teeth...!

I see no reason why the Slendertone Face could not be used when wearing a metal brace. The headset transmits electronic pulses to the nerves to contract the muscles of the face through the skin and I have never felt any effect anywhere else - ie in my mouth, even though I have metal fillings. However, I guess to be on the safe side I would check their website to see if there is any advice about this.

Thanks josh, I've emailed Slendertone to see what they say. I had an MRI and the brace was fine with that, so am assuming it is ok but as they mention mental pins etc on the Tua trend site I want to make sure it is safe.

Great, do let me know what they say.

Well slendertone have said that I can't use it. I am surprised. So many people have dental implants, bridge-work etc, I would have thought it would be ok but they have said not. Am sad now as I was getting excited at the thought of a less worn out looking face!

Also don't understand why the Tua people were more ambiguous, Slendertone seemed to be saying I can't use any Slendertone product at all, but many people have metal fillings, why is that not a problem?
