It's this shoes and beads thing again I'm afraid. I have got the black and white shirt dress (Miss Selfridge, Geo Print Dress, in dress section) and was advised to try green shoes and beads - the only place I can find green ballet pumps is Top Shop and they are a really paintbox vivid green colour. I am not convinced I can pull it off.

They did have lovely teal / turquoise patent ballet pumps, and lovely beads in similar shade. Would that be any good?

If not, is red definitely out? Black and white and red seems to be everywhere.

Or if I wear black shoes (tried the ribbon lace ballet shoes and didn't like them), can I wear bright beads or will that not work?

Oh help, I wish I had stuck to something straightforward now

yes - their website is a bit of a toughie to navigate though!

Would you give me a clue where it was? I have a feeling they may not have the teal shoes in my size in my local branch, was wondering if I could get them delivered instead

Have looked on shoes btw, couldn't see them there!

hmm, they were under Shop by -> Shoes -> Flat Shoes and then move along about twelve.

I love red with black and white, sorry to all those who don't. In fact any bright colour flat pumps n beads would look great with this dress. The teal would look good too. I am suprised you didn't find anything in New look I always find shoes in there Too many shoes in there tbh!!

MrsB, I had an epic journey round town searching for the shoes in my size (there is more than one TopShop here) ...finally found them and they did not fit

Got the next size up, and the beads, they are a gorgeous colour and I am so pleased.

Could anyone tell me what other colours I can wear with them? They are the ones MrsB linked to, a very vivid teal colour.

oh, I am glad you got the shoes!

teal is good with brown, tan, cream etc; also black and grey if you wear them.
Worth trying them against other blues and greens as well, and probably good with rusty orange but might be too Coco the clown.

you'll knock 'em dead this weekend Franny!

FrannyandZooey · 29/06/2006 17:16

"also black and grey if you wear them"

LOLOLOL

I am a blackoholic (now slightly reformed)

I really love these shoes, although a bit of a shame I had to get a size 7 to fit my (not amazingly wide) feet in. I hadn't realised you needed to have skinny feet to wear Topshop stuff.

I am just scared of scuffing the patent leather - haven't had a pair of patent leather shoes for ages - how fab

I know you're a blackaholic and was trying to subtley suggest you needn't be...

shoes are gorge - I wear a 7 all the time on my huge flipper-like feet

FrannyandZooey · 29/06/2006 17:52

I have been really really good lately and even dp said today "you don't wear black half so much these days, do you?"

The colour is much nicer than on that link, btw

Ah and I bet you don't have skinny winny legs like me to give that lovely Minnie Mouse style to your size 7s

ah, no, mine could (and I quote) stop a pig in a passageway.
