just that really.

started 30 day Shred on Tuesday, which involves jumping jacks and stuff

I need a good sports bra, but I have no idea about what size or make.

I don't know what size normal bras I would need either, been in nursing bras for years, but they are rubbish.

Please help! my boobs will thank you!Grin

www.lessbounce.com/

I absolutely swear by LessBounce, the website linked above. A lot of people on it seem to like the ShockAbsorber but I have Ds, and find it's nowhere near supportive enough for impact.

I like the Enell sports bra, and won't wear anything else: it's like a corset!!

www.lessbounce.com/sports-bras-broad-back-42-/enell/enell-sports-bra_ct545bd202pd55.htm

Have bought these for years and love them. Though they feel a bit tight when you first put them on.

You do need to roughly know your size, though.......Get measured??

Branleuse · 04/10/2013 18:05

what are your measurements. Underbust and at fullest part (with a non padded bra on)

anotetofollowso · 04/10/2013 18:11

Another one who didn't get on with Shock Absorber. I swear by the Panache sports bra on the Bravissimo website.

MoreThanWords · 04/10/2013 18:21

Shock absorber was no good for my huge norkage.

I've started wearing a Freya sports bra, and am much happier with it - no mono boob going on, and a lot less bounce!

ZingWantsCake · 04/10/2013 20:34

thanks for replies - I will try and do measurements tonight (children allowing) and get back

OP posts:
ZingWantsCake · 04/10/2013 20:34

what do I need to measure exactly?

OP posts:
ProtectiveMother · 04/10/2013 21:52

You need to measure yourself with no bra on around/under the bust then you need another measurement of circumference of cups when you're bent over at a 90 degree angle iyswim. The bra experts will come along to tell you (roughly) your size. Sometimes you do need to go to House of Fraser or somewhere if your breasts are an unusual shape.

StatisticallyChallenged · 05/10/2013 08:26

Measurement guide at thebetterbracampaign.blogspot.co.uk - pop your measurements up and we'll give you some sizes to start with

ZingWantsCake · 05/10/2013 17:18

thanks!

stat I've just sent you a PM about the same thing - your post didn't show when I checked!Confused

I'll do the measuring when I get home.

just been to Sports Direct. I spent an hour trying on some sportsbras.
it was horrible.
I came away crying.

What I did was to chose exercise that didn't require me to spend money on either an exercise bra or trainers. Pilates, yoga, aqua aerobics, body balance etc. I bought one exercise top with built in bra but it got too big very quickly. If you're trying to lose weight I'd be careful how much you spend on things that might not fit for long.

thanks hoojo
but I'm already doing 30 day Shred and loving it!

I don't care about the cost - I'm not minted, but I rarely spend on myself and this is important for my health!Wink

freya

what's a freya bra?

OP posts:
ZingWantsCake · 05/10/2013 19:08

stat

based on that link
it's

37" for back (under breasts)
48" for hanging down boobs

the shape is post-bf-of-6-kids-droopy, but roundish.

OP posts:
ZingWantsCake · 05/10/2013 19:09

do you need height and weight?

OP posts:
StatisticallyChallenged · 05/10/2013 20:39

Answered you over on PM but for the benefit of anyone else needing help, I'd start with a 36H/HH and a 38GG/H.

Freya is a DD+ bra brand. As is Panache.

thenightsky · 05/10/2013 20:49

Clicked to recommend the Enell, but see I've been beaten to it by Revolting

It is seriously the dog's bollux of a bra. I wear it for serious running.

ZingWantsCake · 05/10/2013 21:03

thanks stats!

I think I need to check out some of the recommended makes!

(sorry for the messing about with PMs!)

thenight & revolting

thanks for the recommendation - a "corset" sounds about right!Grin
I'll check out the link soon.

great website, but I'm quite confused

I think I need running bras as I do jumping jacks, skipping and running on the spot

I like the Ennel bras - I think I need a size 3 or 4 (40 DD)

I like the Panache bras too, but their sizing suggests I'm a 42 H or 42 GG.

I think I'll contact them on Monday for more info - also I really want to try a few on instead of delivery.

great start, thank you!Smile

thenightsky · 05/10/2013 21:56

OP I have an Enell size 0. I'm a 34E.

StatisticallyChallenged · 05/10/2013 22:12

Panache sizing is standard, ignore any size charts. In panache you will not be more than a 38 I wouldn't think.

HazleNutt · 06/10/2013 08:13

Sportsdirect sells crop tops that claim to be sports bras, but offer no support whatsoever to anyone who actually has breasts. Forget about them, you need some serious support.
Go for Freya and Panache, as recommended and I personally like Shock Absorber a lot too - their Run bra only goes up to F, but I can still wear it even though I'm a GG/H at the moment, so might be worth a try. It comes up small in the back though, so you might need to go up a back size.
