Are more expensive hairdryers any better than cheap ones?

I need a new hairdryer. Have only used one sporadically in the past so had a fairly cheap one and am currently borrowing my mum's travel dryer and using it more often so I do need my own.

Is it something that is worth spending more money on? Or is it not worth more money as no discernible difference?

Any recommendations as to a good hairdryer?

I have a salon grade one. It's 3000 kw (possibly more)

Pros.

It dries hair in no time flat
Less frizz.
Great nozzles.

Cons.

It's heavy.

YES! Especially Parlux

Pros - dries quickly, eliminates practically all frizz, light, easier to style as has good nozzles. Nice colour Wink

Cons - £50 seems a lot but compared to other driers it's actually so worth it you won't ever begrudge spending that on it.

Hmmm I do suffer excessively with frizz... Price not so much of an issue as would be a present but I didn't want to suggest something more costly if it wouldn't actually be worth it!

I toyed with buying a Parlux about 10 yrs ago but went for a £8 one I spotted in Tesco. Glad I did, it's still going strong Grin

I recently bought this Babyliss Boutique hairdryer and I love it. It's small, not too heavy and dries my hair so much faster than my old one.

Hair is about armpit-length and more fine than thick.

My hair sounds like yours, and expensive is better! They have higher power to save time, plus they last really well, so you won't have to replace as often.
