I read on this board a while ago someone said to avoid cleansing wipes at all costs. Why is that please. Grin

They can strip paint of walls for one reason Hmm

I think the reason is that they don't do a thorough cleansing job, and that they can leave a harsh residue on the skin.

It makes sense I guess because if you use either a wash off, or tissue/cotton wool/muslin cloth off cleanser, then firstly the cleanser has time to sit on the skin before removal therefore dissolving make-up and dirt more effectively, and also any cleansing agent is removed properly rather than just being wiped onto the skin and left there.

I guess wipes can be convenient for on-the-go, but personally I wouldn't want to use them.

My facialist says they dont clean your skin whilst managing to totally strip it. About 8 weeks ago I thre mine in the bin and have been using a cream cleanser and hot cloth and my skin is a zillion times better

Ooh fancy that. I've been using wipes for years now. I know they don't get all the make-up off in one go because if I look through one of those scary magnifier x10 type mirrors in the morning before I use another wipe, I can see small amounts of make-up residue left.

I shall invest in some cleanser tomorrow.
