Hi Smile

I need some recommendations please. My hair is dry and frizzy and all the serums/oils/leave-in conditioners that I've tried from Boots haven't worked. I've decided I'm going to try a professional product but before I do, I need to know what works. Hope you can help x

I can highly recommend Kerastase Elixir Ultime. My hair became much thinner, bone dry and frizzy after a period of quite serious ill health. It is better than it was, but will never be as it was, though I've found products to make the best of it Smile. The Kerastase serum, together with some Redken Aerate 08 before blow drying (this is a creme, weeny bit needed on my just touching shoulders hair), gives my hair softness together with some body, bounce and shine. I don't have to try to blow dry in the way they do so expertly in a salon, I can put my head upside down while drying then brush through a bit, then finish with the cool setting on the hairdryer. I find that on day 2, I can just dampen my hair a bit then quick once over with the hairdryer. I'm then not putting my hair through too much stress. The products aren't cheap but they last a v long time.
Once a week I slather coconut oil all over my hair, put a disposable shower cap on, plus towel on pillow and sleep with the stuff on overnight. It needs 2 shampoos to rinse out, but gives my hair some deep conditioning cheaply.
Finally, I also use shampoo that is SLS and paraben free. They don't have to be expensive, if you search these terms on MN there are lots of recommendations. I tend to look at what's on offer and plump for that, so I chop and change.
I also take a skin/hair/nails supplement from Boots, which has given me good strong flexible nails and my hair doesn't fall out quite as alarmingly as it did.

My dds hair is dry and frizzy too. I put coconut oil on it once a week overnight. She sleeps in a towelling shower hat and we wash it out the next morning.

Moroccan oil, brilliant stuff! Any hairdressers that sells it should have a 5ml sample bottle, definitely worth the money it completely changed the texture of hair

I use it and it is fantastic.

Moroccan oil shampoo, leave in conditioner and oil (in that order). I have very curly (and stubbornly frizzy in some parts) hair and it's the best I've ever used. In fact since using it my hair has started to grow again and EVERYONE has noticed.

I've just bought L'Oreal's Extraordinary oil. It better be extra-ordinary for a tenner! Will let you know how it goes on my frizzy, fine hair.

Coconut oil was good for me for a time and liked the smell too. I now use mongongo oil / manketti after reading they had used it in Africa for ages.. figured it must be good in that heat! So far it has been great.
