I'm a size 22 (down from a 26) I have a long weightloss journey ahead but I'm just happy to be feeling and looking a bit better and would like to keep my wardrobe ticking over.
I like fairly simple, unfussy styles - don't mind colour and pattern but dislike strange or redundant detailing. I don't like things pretending to be other things - those funny jumpers with pretend shirt bits or "mock wrap" tops.
I'm also becoming increasingly intolerant of synthetic fibers, I can spot acrylic at 20 paces and/or with a quick feel - it sets my teeth on edge!
I try to stick to cotton, wool, viscose/modal usually.
I'm 5'7 and I seem to have strayed into the no can't land between regular and long length. I really struggle to find tops long enough - these are what I'm particularly looking for.
Other things to know - I'm in my early 30s with a preschooler and a small budget. Casual but in a smart way, a bit quirky but multifunctional is probably a look I'm going for.
Also, I'd like the moon on a stick... :D

Congratulations on your weight loss.

Give us some more info on your preferences? Who's style do you like? Favourite shops? Styles/colours that suit you best? Existing things you have in your wardrobe that your new things will have to work with?

Congratulations!! I'm on a similar journey to you, and I found Boden pretty good for long tunic tops (though some are synthetic), and some of their styles are more unusual. Not cheap, but I think a few good tops/dresses is worth the investment.

I have no idea really! I quite like Boden, Joules, Fat Face, Barbour style of clothes although I've not been able to fit into them!
I also like quirkier stuff, silly tees, kitsch prints etc - maybe when I'm slim!

I suit fitted styles in general, I have a couple of pairs of jeans (although they're never comfortable, too big on the waist for them to fit nicely on the leg, prone to builder's bum) some black jersey palazzos - these were a staple when I was bigger but just don't seem to suit me now. The shape of skater dresses seem to work for me - I have big boobs and fairly hourglass shaped, just a big hourglass, more of a sort of monthglass ;)
I'm open to wearing leggings, as long as my top is long enough. I have terrible shaped lower legs - chunky cankles - although I somehow own two pairs of biker boots that actually fit. I've barely worn them but really want to utilise them this winter.

Despite being drawn to black it doesn't really suit me in great quantities. I'm increasingly favouring navy.
I'm naturally very pale, but tan easily. Dark hair, green eyes.

I have no real idea whose style I admire, it's not something I could think of emulating previously so I've stuck to comfort and what fits!

Thank you for the congratulations too and the same to you Bumgrapes. :)

I'm just popping in to recommend this dress after seeing you mention quirky prints!

I ordered it and had to send it back as the 14 was overly generous but it is really lovely. Would look fab with tights and biker boots.

Oh and congrats on the weight loss!

As you were Grin

the hardest part is the no synthetics, they are everywhere!

there is a new brand called pinkclove that are due to launch some plain skater dresses this week. My sister got the rose print one and a blue wrap dress (although faux wrap as stitched in place) and they are both really nice, considering the amazingly cheap prices.

Have a try of fat face floatier tunics as you may find they fit. im a 12/14 and can fit into a lot of 10's in fat face tops.

Boden have some lovely tops and skirts and dresses that would work, but I am finding them v v pricey this winter, or maybe I've
just got tighter lol.

M&s jggings and leggings are good quality and nice and thick so no visible pants, they work well with tunics and longer tops.

Maybe I'll have to relax my no synthetics thing slightly - on the whole as long as it's mainly not synthetic it'll be ok.
How have I not 'heard' of Pink Clove before? Thank you so much for that link - I can't believe the prices too - bargainatious. It reminds me a bit of curvissa which is another good site. Hopefully the high street will catch up soon, it'll be good for Evans to have a bit of competition - that's a brand definitely guilty of overusing synthetic materials and then overcharging for the privilege - bonkers!
Bunny - I love love love that print! Is the returns process fairly straightforward? I might risk it :)
