Dp and I want some, the fleece ones make my teeth itch and they kind of stick to you when you're still damp from the shower, but where are they all?!
I can't find them anywhere for growed up people Hmm

Funnily enough, I've been looking for one for DH today and am considering one of these www.dunelm-mill.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=14100&storeId=10551&productId=167923&langId=-1&reviewPage=2#ReviewHeader

They are lurking online in retailers who mainly do clothes but have a token attempt at homeware for e.g La Redoute, Zara (home), sometimes H&M home (but they also like satin) and Landsend (but they can't make their mind up if they are in their "for the home" section or sleepwear).

I may have had a rantette about this in the past Blush

King of Cotton do them - I had a similar 'I don't want bloody sweaty polyester fleece I want cotton towelling' moment about 18 months ago and really struggled to find anything reasonably priced. I bought DH a King of Cotton one and it's decent - not as nice as an ancient Marks and Spencer one that my mum bought in the 80s (when M&S was naice) and gave to me (unworn!) about 10 years ago - but it's good for the price. I'm going to buy them with embroidered names on for the DCs for Christmas Grin.

Depending on your style, I've have one of these from white company a couple of sizes too big. It's ankle length and very cosy, it's a bit worn out now and am thinking of getting another one in white.

buttercrumble · 01/10/2013 20:27

Emma bridgewater have some lovely ones

YippeeKiYayMakkaPakka · 01/10/2013 20:28

M&S have a couple of cotton towelling robes, for women and for men.

Whereisegg · 01/10/2013 20:32

I bloody knew it couldn't just be me and dp that despise those awful fleece things, I also bloody knew that mn would help me out!

Thank you all Smile

Dpi got me one from bhs last year last of the romantics Grin

Ilovewaleswhenitrains · 01/10/2013 21:40

I have the Dunelm dressing gown. It is ok, but short and heavy. I bought a lovely one from the White company. I am 5' 4" and it's down to my ankles. I dyed it purple because White is am impractical colour for me.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 01/10/2013 21:42

I got mine and DH's from Bethnal Green market, £5 each. They're a bit cat-shredded now so we need new ones.

Whereisegg · 04/10/2013 17:50

Ordered one from amazon today, hoping it's nice, but enough time to source a different one before Christmas if not Smile

I looked all over for one last year, ended up buying it from the hotel we stayed in for my birthday! They used to be everywhere but they're all fleece now.

starfishmummy · 04/10/2013 18:02

Looked for one for ages for dh as the one he had was very scruffy - we have been married 17 years and he had it before that!
Eventually tracked one down for him in Marks (on line) and it is fine - although I doubt if it will last anywhere near as long.
Must get one for me soon as I hate my fleece one and really regret having thrown my equally ancient towelling one away.

Whereisegg · 04/10/2013 19:33

Fleece ones suck!
They are so horrible if you are still damp from the shower, and don't even get me started on if your legs are a bit stubbly....! Confused

I just got this M&S one in cream, long.

I've got a White Company one which is ultra heavy and the Dunelm Mill ones come up heavy too, but the M&S one is nice & fluffy & light

KosherBacon · 04/10/2013 20:22

Last year M&S did a pure cotton one that I bought online. Turned out it had a 100% fleece lining. Yech, it was revolting. I sent it back and complained and needless to say I never heard back from them.

My holy grail of dressing gowns would be patterned, long and towelling. I would almost consider paying the cost of the Emma Bridgwater/ cath kidston ones if only they were 6" longer.

Twinklestein · 04/10/2013 20:24

^^ That M&S one doesn't have a fleece lining, it's 100% cotton towelling.

(I had no idea that anyone used fleece gowns as bath robes tbh)

KosherBacon · 04/10/2013 20:30

Twinklestein- I've seen that one but I really want a patterned one!

Twinklestein · 04/10/2013 20:54

The info was more for the OP...

The only patterned towelling robes I know of other than Cath Kidston are Missoni, which are even more expensive.

Whereisegg · 04/10/2013 21:34

Thanks twinkle, I'll have a look.
The one I got dp was plain, but I'm a bit more exciting than him, naturally Wink
Well, when I'm not starting threads about towelling dressing gowns anyway....
