I just had a positive bra experience in M&S

Okay, so not perfect as they don't stock my size but the fitter knew how to fit bras!

She told me that the band should be level all the way around my body
Didn't use a tape measure
Told me how to scoop
Looked at my boobs and saw that there isn't much in the top and so a balcony size would be better

After reading one of the bra threads, I was pleasantly surprised that she didn't do a traditional M&S fitting.

However, I still have a problem that the bra straps dig into my armpit fat. Why is this?

style issue most likely what bras do you wear

Previously plunge but nice marks lady said that balcony would be better?

Is it that the straps are too far "out" on your body so they are kind of digging in to your armpit?

I tried a fitting in Boux Avenue today against my better judgement- I asked the lady if they did the add 4" and she said no. Well, instead they measure you in cm then convert it on their chart that, surprise surprise, adds 4".

I'm 29.5" underneath, so she measured 75cm and told me that was a 34, then guessed me as a B cup. I said no chance I was a B as I spilled out of them before when I was smaller boobed and wore 34B. I also showed her how much I could pull the band away on the 32 I was wearing and she said it must just come up big Hmm.

Got me a 34C- boobs were squashed with a 4 boob effect, band was riding half way up my back. She said it looked ok, but if I'd be more comfortable then we could go down a back size and up two cup sizes. Oh, and to fasten on the middle hook.

The 32DD was not too bad, I could still pull it out a bit and it just made my boobs look odd. She said it was a bit tight but 'ok if you like it like that' (as opposed to up round my shoulder blades you mean Hmm). I tried a different style in 32DD which was ok (she was starting to lose interest in fitting me by that point as I wasn't taking the advice!), but not good quality for the price.

The material just felt quite cheap, way too stretchy and the band was very narrow so no real support. They felt like supermarket bras at department store prices.

Agree with that - boux avenue are definitely selling cheaply made products at premium prices. I like their idea of having drawers with all the sizes in but I would rather have better made bras and better value prices than fancy LCD screens and posh paper bags and wrapping.

Stat - that's exactly it. The bra I'm wearing would be perfectly fine if it was a strapless bra.
