Do you ever buy non leather boots?

I usually buy leather boots. But this time I'm considering buying non leather. Most of the boots I've had, the sole wears out quite quickly (within a season) and it's quite expensive to replace the soles. I think a shoemender quoted me £25 to replace the soles last year. I do walk quite a lot! So quite often my boots last me one season, maybe two. I have a couple of cheapy non leather boots too and their soles don't wear out any quicker and they have actually outlasted the leather ones and I can still wear them this winter without replacing the soles.

I've been looking up leather boots and they are around £150 for ones that I like in terms of colour and style. I found some lovely ones on Ebay, non leather, in a style I love, for £30! So tempted...will I regret it?

Hi, I bought some suede ones from Faith last year and they have worn really well. you just have to be a little more careful in them as scuffs will ruin them.

I do occasionally if I really like the boot. I have some black biker ones with a zip at the back £25 from asda. I don't expect them to last for years at that price but the soles etc all seem to wear the same as those on my leather boots.

You can get really nice leather boots in asda and tesco though for around £40

Ooo and also Matalan

£70 for non-leather boots?! I always buy leather.

I did once, they were cheap and they fell to bits after a couple of wears, they were as uncomfortable as he'll too, a real waste of money.

Today I'm wearing some non leather biker boots from Primark (and I hardly EVER buy shoes from Primark normally - as I feel coats and shoes should be of good quality) and I have worn them to death and they are still going strong after about 3yrs of wear. So great value for money. I think I got them in the sale as well for about a tenner.

Goes to show that sometimes you can come across a well made non leather one. The soles on the leather ones doesn't seem to be any better than the non leather ones, so I think you are paying for the look really with the leather ones, as they do look better on the whole.
I'm looking for a pair of knee high leather biker boots at the moment to replace my leather ones.
Had a look in Asda yesterday and wow £40 for a pair of leather boots! But the styling wasn't to my taste and the colour was a horrible mud brown. Have had a look at the Tesco website too, and £45 for a pair and although the style was OK, again I don't like the dark brown colour. I want a tan one.

Does anyone know of any places offering discounts on boots at the moment?

i have small feet and have often bought non-leather fashion boots because they don't stretch as the leather wears, they do only last a season but as fashion boots this is not a problem.

Got some faux suede ones (ankle ones) - they can't be real from Natura who are I think a Spanish brand.

check them out if you're in Barcelona - there are a few branches around. They trade on being natural but although a bit of a hippy vibe these are great and they're cheap enough (but don't look it) as if they get ruined I'm not too upset.
