I found this info interesting.

For example, a lot of people know Bourjois to be the sister brand of Chanel. What I didn’t know was that Bourjois actually came into the picture first (1863), not Chanel. In 1924, Coco Chanel approached Pierre Wertheimer, who was then the owner of Bourjois, to help her develop her famous perfumes. These days, it’s Bourjois and the Wertheimer family who own the Chanel empire. So, contrary to popular belief, Chanel doesn’t own Bourjois, but the other way round. Interesting, eh?

Very interesting! It's the same story with food and household products too, with a few huge companies owning most of what we can buy Sad

the fact that they are all owned by the same holding company doesn;t necessarily reduce your choice. COmpanies work very differntly. Some control very tightly from the centre and be very prescriptive whilst others with be very decentralised with companies within the group operating autonomously and the head office only getting onvolved in matters of policy and tax planning and financial reporting (of necessity).

I had some multinational clients some years ago and you would be amazed in some cases how little control central head office had over the operating companies.

What this images thing then...?! When did that appear?
