I think I must be missing something! I see people wearing them and they seem to be recommended on here quite a lot but they are ugly and not sure why anyone would buy them Hmm

They are considerably nicer looking than converse in my opinion.

I bought some in the US last year on holiday, and my goodness they were so comfortable for walking around in.
I mainly wear them at the beach now though, not anywhere else.

Well of course they are comfortable...they're slippers!

My dressing gown is comfortable too, but I'm not about to wear it to Tesco!

£42 for Nan's espadrilles, not worth it at all and the charity side doesn't sound convincing. It sounds like a clever marketing ploy. I prefer converse, vans, Havianas, sandals. These look rubbish.

Unless you've actually looked at a pair close up they do look like crap... however inside they have a proper leather moulded footbed, really supportive, not just flat like the cheap copies. Try a pair, you'll be surprised how well made and comfortable they are.

I need a name for a phobia please. I cannot stand the sight of being able to see the outline of a persons toes in Toms. The raised imprint of their big toe especially.

When they take them off the imprint is still there.

shudders

I had a pair for the summer. I wore them with indigo skinnies. They were navy and a small part of them were navy and white thin stripes. They were fab - comfy to walk around on holidays in, and a proper sole. I had no idea that they were thought to be so ugly! I was very pleased with mine, and I would buy them again. Not the patterned ones though, as they're not to my taste. Plain, or a stripe, at a push.

I had some a couple of years ago in a sort of neutral beigey grey colour. I loved them, they looked really nice with lots of my summer outfits. V expensive for what they were though, and broke though on one of the toes very quickly.
