Jumper 40% viscose - yay or nay

At last I have found some jumpers I like. For examplethis jum/per but it's 40% viscose and 60% cotton. Will it be OK to wash at 30 and will it end up looking like a rag after a few washes?

I was originally looking for wool jumpers (merino or cashmere) but can't find anything I like or can afford. Warehouse have some more stylish options but they are all heavy on viscose.

You didn't find anything at Uniqlo? Have heard mixed things about viscose knits.

neolara · 28/09/2013 17:28

I have no idea. Sorry. But I was shopping today and saw this. £100 for an acrylic jumper! What has the world come to. (I feel like my mum.....)

Canthaveitall · 28/09/2013 17:28

Uniqlo were OK but just a bit boring. Warehouse seem to have more stylish options.

Viscose is not warm at all. It's used for the drape. It's a very weak fibre and creases like shit. But should be ok in that blend....as long as you don't want warm

neolara I like the way it says 'crafted with a touch of wool'. I expect a whole lot more than a touch of wool for that price Grin.

orangeanddemons Hmmm, me and the iron are not great friends so I am not liking the idea of creasing. Warm would be helpful but as I work in a hot office that is OK. My main concern is it looking tatty after a few washes.

Anyone else?

I have loads of viscose, I like drapey stuff Grin Some of it creases, some hardly at all. All of it creases less than linen or cotton. I don't find it 'goes tatty' (not really sure wat you mean?) but I wash all mine on a 'super sensitive' 20 degree was with a very slow spin. I do find you have to iron it to get the shape and quite often the size back, sometimes it needs ironing while still damp.

I have a few viscose cardigans that were dead cheap but have lasted brilliantly and really kept their colour and shape a hot iron works well!

Gobblers, I always wonder this..where did your name come from?

GobblersKnob · 28/09/2013 21:29

Hover over my name Smile

Orangeanddemons · 28/09/2013 21:32

I've been hovering....very confused

GobblersKnob · 28/09/2013 21:49

Bless you Grin

Here

From the film 'Groundhog Day'. I'm a huge Bill Murray fan, plus it looks a bit rude, which is always a bonus Wink

Orangeanddemons · 28/09/2013 21:53

Aaah I see. I've seen Groundhog Day twice too....
