..buy a pair in another colour?
Am tempted as these Next beauties have revolutionised my wardrobe and I need a pair of black boots.
Would I regret it?

I would definitely go for a second pair. They may not make them again next year and if they work in one colour surely they will work well in another. If you can afford it, go for it.

mamayaya · 27/09/2013 23:32

Ooh I like!

HappyGirlNow · 28/09/2013 11:28

Go for it.. I've got them in all colours from last winter Blush

GobblersKnob · 28/09/2013 12:56

I say go for it, I can't tell you haow many things (clothes, shoes, bras) I have doubles (or more) of.

I have to say though, that while I really like them in the tan and mink, I am not keen on the black.

I bought two pairs of the same boot several years ago- a Wrangler block heeled ankle boot and am I glad as they are my go to boots for particular pants and I'd hate to be without them. Same colour too.

If I find a really good T then I buy it in triplicate but only in the classic colours-navy, black, white, cream, grey. I am pretty anal specific about grey T's and if I find the right shade and weave of marl then I'll buy loads. Finding the perfect shape and fit of T for yourself is harder than finding anything else save jeans I think. I could probably write a very boring book on T shirts Grin.

I would advise getting them resoled and heeled asap though- Next can be a bit iffy re the quality of their shoes and boots and my cobbler advised me to prolong the life of much loved High St footwear by getting this redone immediately. It protects the toe cap from rapid wear although your boots have a turn up at the toe and so will be less vulnerable to erosion from scuffing there.

Mignonette wher do you get your ts from, I am in search, but cannot wear a crew neck.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 28/09/2013 13:15

Ooh I was looking at those. Is the mink pair grey or brown ?

Stepawayfromthezebras · 28/09/2013 13:20

They're lovely! I've bought boots in more than one colour before, it's so hard to find the perfect pair that if you do it makes sense to snap them up

daimbardiva · 28/09/2013 13:32

I live those - spotted them the other day and trying hardto resist! Go for it - if you love them you'll use them

ElizabethBathory · 28/09/2013 13:32

Yes do it!! I wore my perfect boots for 8 years and was v annoyed when they wore out and I couldn't find anything remotely as good. Should have bought 2 pairs :)

mignonette · 28/09/2013 13:33

Nilby I buy from several places but there isn't an alternative to trying on as many different makes and styles as you can because what suits me may not suit you. I like C+C California for their long body shape, James Perse for softness, flat seams, non scratchy label and perfection after multiple washes. RE cheapie ones I have had really good experiences w/ New Look T shirts which can wash really well, when they fade they fade beautifully and they have lots of different neck lines. Petit Bateau womens range T's are fabulous-beautifully cut and they just look stylish.

For people who can wear round necks, Haines and Fruit of the Loom do good, thick and stretchy basic T'.s

A gentle V shape suits most people or a loose low wide V. Uniqlo are good for cotton basics and again ,they have different cuts as do Gap. I always look at the seams-are they flat and double stitched? Are they seamed so the T shirt doesn't twist round the body or end up stretched in a triangular shape?

American Outfitters have good T's but I avoid H&M-their T's seem priced very high for their very poor quality. New Look's are more reasonable. M&S do good basic V neck and slash neck T's especially from March when the summer stock drops. I have long sleeved v neck and round necks from there that are eight years old and because they have a little lycra in them, they have not lost their shape. The basic long sleeved T from Laura Ashley are good quality too.

Of course I have to replace white T's several times a year as they never stay white. I like them either tissue paper opaque or in a Winter weight cotton like the Fruits of the Loom ones. Also keep an eye out for decent Thermal T's-the Men's undershirt white thermal T's in a tiny size wear well as do the M&S thermal T's. They have a rib weave that doesn't stretch out of shape.

mignonette · 28/09/2013 13:36

Oh and T shirts with a seam down both sides running from under the armpit to the hem are more likely to stretch out in a triangular manner after being worn and washed a few times. The best constructed T's are woven in a tube shape w/ one seam down the side.

I have the same boots ( not the ones on this thread) in 3 colours!

Littlefiendsusan · 28/09/2013 14:19

I've never duplicated shoes before,so this will be new to me.
mig that's a Good tip,was thinking of getting them resoled anyway as they are a Bit clacky When I Walk.
