Help please. I'm undecided between the red stripy one at the top or the green one at the bottom.
here
I am light red haired, pale skinned and have about two stone to los since having a baby six weeks ago- I'll be buying a size 14.
I feel torn as I wear green quite a bit but think the green could look a bit frumpy.

I much prefer the green, and I don't think its frumpy, and it would be lovely with your colouring. Funnily enough I think the red stripey one veers a little towards frumpy whereas the green doesn't.

Great, thank you. I have ordered the green.

I think any rain coat that isn't plain looks likes a child's coat.

I have the grey one and I was v pleased this year to see them in some sober plain colours. It means you can wear them with anything – bright tights, colourful print dress etc – which is not the case when they look like Johnnie has gone mad with a box of poster paints.

I bought a patterned one a couple of years ago. It was VERY loud. It was lovely to wear but I rarely wore it as I did feel like an overgrown child in it. I don't normally shy away from colours, but I felt incredibly self-conscious in it, even just picking the kids up from school Blush. Sold it on ebay in the end.

If I bought another I'd definitely choose a nice plain muted colour like grey, or black, or the one you've gone for Smile

Just so you know, apparently the new ones aren't waterproof.

I have an older one (about 4 years ago?) and have only worn it about once, as it is too lurid. It's green and purple. But it is proper shiny waterproof material.

I'm OK with showerproof, as I have a massive lands end squall parka for really bad weather. The new Boden ones are really a smart & warm mac so better for autumn/spring.

I think it's a fair trade-in as I don't like the shiny look so much!

Onlyconnect · 27/09/2013 10:09

MrsWolowitz it's the Boden website.
Actually now you say it, I agree with the points made about the patterns- going well with things and looking a bit childish- so am really glad to have gone for the green.
I have another very warm waterproof for when the weather is really bad. This is for Autumn and spring really.

I really love the green one you picked out!
