Help me please! Legsuit swimming costume for hourglass figure.

Having lost a bit of weight recently I'm not almost ready to bare my body in a swimming costume to try to get a bit fitter. [scared]

I want a legsuit so that I don't have to worry so much about bikini lines and my arse hanging out. The problem is my shape doesn't seem to fit the swimming costumes.

I'm pretty much a 12 bottom (just) but with 32G breasts. If the cossie fits me on the waist (which is narrow and the bit I want to emphasise, as opposed to my sturdy bottom and thighs) then I'm spilling out all around the bust. And not in an attractive way - I like a bit of cleavage but not bulges on the outside of the straps sort of thing!

I tried on a few and this Speedo one was the best, but my breast were still trying to escape. I don't want to go up to a 14 as it would be really baggy on the waist and I'm still losing weight. Also, my breasts aren't the most pert and need scaffolding support.

I like the style of this V necked Zoggs one but haven't found it anywhere to try on. Does anyone know what sort of fit it is and whether it's a bit more generous in the bust fitting? Or of any other legsuits which are more generously cut in the bust? I don't want to waste money ordering it and then having to return it if it doesn't fit.

Any advice much appreciated! Smile

Breasts not breast trying to escape - although they were so squashed together that they did look like a single entity. Grin

Seafolly Godess range usually has them. Beautiful costumes. Last years .

Pagwatch · 26/09/2013 11:50

this one is the one I have but they usually have different versions

House of Fraser do Seafolly and have a brand thing on - 20% off next two days.
I'll have a look .....

Pagwatch · 26/09/2013 11:53

they have them - here!

You probably hate it Grin

I might get another one ....

CrabbyBigBottom · 26/09/2013 11:57

Thank you Pag. Smile I love it from the front but it's too high on the bottom and thighs for me because I'm so fucking hairy that even when I've shaved there's a shadow!

OP posts:
CrabbyBigBottom · 26/09/2013 12:06

Also a bit on the pricey side even with the big reduction!

Grin I have a big bum and it doesn't cut as high on me as it does on the model but if it's not right I will see if I pot any others when I am out tomorrow. Hope you find one .

I give up. Sad Tried on loads yesterday again and not one of them fitted properly.

Don't like stupid swimming anyway. Hmm

I am a size 20 and just go for a low leg cut swimsuit with a high back to cover the back fat! This is my latest... www.bonmarche.co.uk/swimwear/circle-spot-print-bow-detail-swimsuit/invt/17525151/&bklist=icat,4,shop,shopbyproduct,swimwear
I spend most of my time in the water so no-one can see me anyway and walk to and from the changing rooms with a towel around me to save the public seeing my wobbly bits! No-one really cares! Ok slightly not true i disapprove of any men in speedos at the pool, but in terms of what women wear just wear what feels comfy and don't worry about a bit of fuzz!

Pagwatch · 27/09/2013 20:18

Oh crabby, swimsuit shopping is designed to make people feel crap.
I know you looked better than you thought ou did. Plus I know that actually at the pool people don't care.
I am at the pool almost daily because DD is a swimmer. The women swimming for their health and fitness spend nano seconds pool side.

I hope you find one. X

CrabbyBigBottom · 28/09/2013 10:38

Thanks Trinity, that's pretty but I do want a legsuit. Grin at disapproving of speedos in the pool - they don't leave much to the imagination do they!

Thanks Pag, I feel like all of them disguise or distort the best bits of me (waist and bust) and totally emphasise the worst (bum and legs). I think I need one f those Nigella burkhinis. Grin I wouldn't mind so much but I want to swim while DD does her swimming and diving lessons, but that's when all the other home ed parents are sitting up in the cafe that overlooks the lane swimming area of the pool, watching what's going on! I can hardly swim as it is so am going to look a right numpty flailing about with my tits making a spirited bid for freedom. That'll put 'em off their lattes. Wink

I can't see that a costume that fits your boobs or bum, whichever is bigger, is going to be that loose around the other as cossies are so stretchy. It needs to be comfortably big enough for your biggest part.

Don't worry about flattering your waist, again I can't see how it can be that baggy, unless you are thinking of strolling around the pool rather than getting straight in.Honestly nobody is going to be saying "her waist looks really good in that swimming costume."

CelticPromise · 28/09/2013 11:24

What about a tankini from Freya? I have one of their swimsuits but they don't have legs, tankini bottoms are shorts though and they come in bra sizes.

ClaimedByMe · 28/09/2013 11:26

What about a swimsuit that has a 'skirt' on it? my mum has a few of them and she loves them.

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/09/2013 11:54

It sounds like you probably need to get bra sized swimwear to fit your body. I think with a 12ish hip, a 32G swimsuit would probably be the right size on your waist too whereas anything which isn't cup sized you will have to go up in the back/dress size to get enough nork room (owner of 30HHs...I feel your pain and yes, it is definitely possible for a swimsuit to be baggy on the waist!)

Unfortunately I can't find any cup sized leg suits - this is about the lowest leg I can find which I know isn't what you are after

alternatively tankini with shorts?

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/09/2013 11:56

this tankini is in your size and has proper shorts

Lazysuzanne · 28/09/2013 12:07

I'll be watching this thread because I've yet to find a legsuit I'm happy with.

Tempted to try a tankini but worried it'd ride up when I'm swimming?

Minshu · 28/09/2013 12:52

I prefer tankinis, and have never found a problem with them riding up. That Freya one is lovely.

working3jobs · 28/09/2013 17:30

theres a lot on ebay (new ones!!) but I searched "boy leg" not longleg, HTH

CrabbyBigBottom · 07/10/2013 23:00

Aaargh! How did I miss all these replies? Confused I thought the thread had died and now I discover all your helpful advice. Will read through these links now.

Busker I'd rather not bare my body in the pool at all, frankly, but if I'm going to then it needs to be in something vaguely flattering that emphasises my best bits rather than my worst. Otherwise I'd rather not do it at all. I'd shelved the idea of swimming tbh, but finding these replies has given me a bit of renewed enthusiasm.

Statistical that Freya one is lovely and looks perfect! Thank you, Flowers and to Celtic too for the suggestion of Freya.

I wonder if I can find a stockist to try it on.

BanoffeeSplitz · 08/10/2013 11:33

Did you manage to try on that Zoggs V-neck swimsuit with the white band?
I have seen it worn by someone fairly large busted & it looked really good - breasts are pretty solidly harnessed, but the white band & the back cutout make it look really sporty & fresh & vintagey,
The inverted V to the white band is really flattering. I am quite jealous of it, but too flat chested to make it work!

CelticPromise · 08/10/2013 17:55

Crabby I believe Brastop do free returns, I've sent plenty of stuff back to them in the past. Glad you like the Freya, they are pretty effective on my substantial bosoms Grin

ShoeWhore · 08/10/2013 18:16

You definitely need bra-sized swimwear.

Quite a few tankini options with shorts here

A tankini can be easier to get a good fit as you can choose the back size to fit your back/waist and size up if necessary on the bottoms to suit your bottom.

I'm a similar shape to you and find ordinary (not too skimpy) bikini bottoms much more flattering than shorts though (although I am quite short in the leg, perhaps you are more generously blessed in that department? Grin ) Worth looking at non-short tankini/swimsuit options in Bravissimo as well, they have plenty that offer a fair amount of coverage. In fact if you are anywhere near a store I really would consider going and letting them fit you, the fitters are lovely and really know their stuff.
