Very warm gloves for very small hands...

anyone seen any? I get chilblains on my hands every year and I want to invest in a pair of gloves that are properly warm, but also stylish (don't want mountain climbing gloves or ones that look like they're from an outdoors shop). I have small hands and most gloves I try on are far too long in the fingers, so they need to have a good range of sizes. Help?

I think that John Lewis still sells some gloves (leather and suede) in measured sizes, I am a 6 so small too. Dents gloves are also in proper glove sizes rather than S, M , L etc.

I was going to suggest tkmaxx for kids snow gloves but not too stylish. I found a good fitting pair of cotton or better still silk gloves underneath a regular pair was the solution for me. I think I found them in John Lewis but I'm not positive.

I wear kids gloves .

BitchyRestingFace · 24/09/2013 14:09

What about these?

I haven't got them yet but I do have a pair of sheepskin mittens that I've had for years. Seriously warm.

Longleggedlovely · 24/09/2013 14:22

My warmest are mittens for when it is super cold but they aren't stylish! My every day cosy gloves are leather but cashmere lined from Coach, they are lovely, expensive but get better with age!

Corvuscorax · 24/09/2013 14:46

Cashmere lined leather sounds amazing! Sheepskin also a good idea. Thanks all

I've got Ugg sheepskin gloves they're very warm and they're small. I don't know how much they sell for as they were a present from DH. Keep me warm pitch side every Sunday Smile

noisytoys · 24/09/2013 18:15

I've got UGG sheepskin gloves they were £125 but worth every penny they are 4 years old now and still going strong Smile

I'd go for sheepskin and buy some glove liners. One pair of gloves is never warm enough for me. My cashmere lined leather gloves were pretty poor when it came the depths of winter. Mind you I wear skiing gloves with merino liners to keep my hands warm, even then they get cold. I've been told mittens and liners are the only way to go if you suffer from really cold hands.

I've just ordered a pair of Primaloft leather gloves from eBay www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LADIES-GAUCHO-PRIMALOFT-LEATHER-GLOVES-IN-BROWN-/160908961164 dh swore by his Primaloft gloves last year.

Corvuscorax · 24/09/2013 19:09

Good to know snowlie, will aim for sheepskin in that case.

Mittens are warmer than gloves. I have leather, cashmere and sheepskin. The sheepskin are warmest but not great for mobility as you to take them off to zip up coats etc

Littlepumpkinpie · 24/09/2013 23:15

I have very small hands and wear Celtic sheepskin gloves think they were £50. John lewis also sell sheepskin gloves in sizes

cressetmama · 25/09/2013 10:03

I find possum/merino fingerless gloves work for most of the winter warmth-wise. Plus you don't have to take them off to do things like doing up or undoing zips! Rab (from good outdoor shops) do some warm, very supple ones too, but only in black and not pretty.

Corvuscorax · 25/09/2013 13:25

Thanks all, you've been so helpful! Have ordered some dark brown Celtic sheepskin ones because I found a 20% off code on here :) I do think mittens are quite cute and might try them if the gloves don't keep the chilblains at bay, but I don't like the idea of having to take them off whenever I want to do something!

I've had angora lined suede ones, look in house of Fraser, Debenham's, JL.

M&S have nice cheaper leather gloves, but not always warm lined.

My everyday ones are age 14, thermocline lined fleece. A present of a small handed DF Grin

NoComet · 25/09/2013 13:32

Also Patra silk (who are on line sell various weights of glove liners) which I've never tried, but look lovely.

BitchyRestingFace · 25/09/2013 13:45

Oooh what was the code Corvus?

Corvuscorax · 25/09/2013 15:37

JDGB2. I found it in the 'promotional codes and vouchers' topic.
