Winter is coming and I need to up the stakes. Skin is fair and sensitive and almost 40 Grin. Currently using trilogy rose hip oil (which I love) but I'm not that enamoured of the flanker moisturisers. So other suggestions VERY welcome!

TIA

I use trilogy too. What has helped for me is using Hydralauron too. I'm currently using Emma Hardie moisturiser which is lovely. The Liz Earle super skin whatnot is pretty heavy duty too.

wiltingfast · 23/09/2013 22:51

Hmm, never heard of the first two must go google! Thank you for the tips.

Anyone else?

Aveeno it's very good.

Nuxe miel ultra comfortable day cream now available in large M&S

Amazing for dry tight skin

JennySense · 23/09/2013 23:10

yy to Nuxe - love their products too :)

wiltingfast · 23/09/2013 23:37

Aww, have tried Nuxe and so wanted to like it but it wasn't moisturising enough plus a bit overly scented for me.

jenny do you use the trilogy oil and then the hydralauron?

Jurlique moisture replenishing cream - best ever! jurlique.co.uk Call and ask for a sample.

TigOldBitties · 23/09/2013 23:43

I use hydraluron before moisturiser. It's a humectant so apparently attracts moisture from the air. On its own it doesn't seem anything but it works under your moisturiser. Then La Roche Posay Hydraphase.

valiumredhead · 23/09/2013 23:47

Aloe from the body shop.

Lazysuzanne · 24/09/2013 00:04

I like lush skin drink and olive oil

Casmama · 24/09/2013 00:12

Try this one with whatever moisturiser you choose. It's fab.

rootypig · 24/09/2013 00:19

Face or body? Eucerin is amazing for face, also A Derma Epithiale something or other, can never spell it. Kiehls for body (creme de corps). Clarins face oils too, if you fancy a change from the Trilogy.

ZingWantsCake · 24/09/2013 00:35

E45 & aqueous cream

perfectstorm · 24/09/2013 01:03

Aqueous cream actually thins the skin. Not great, for v sensitive.

I use Lancome Hydra Zen. Miserably expensive (I'm more your supermarket brand girl for shampoo etc) but it's the only one I've ever found that doesn't sting, cause breakouts or make me greasy. My skin is so dry it flakes, otherwise. Get some free samples from Boots or a dep't store and check it out? It changed my life when I did. Sad but true.

DaleyBump · 24/09/2013 01:07

I swear by Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Comfort Balm. I have really sensitive, dry skin and this is perfect. It absorbs so quickly and isn't perfumed, and it was designed for Norwegian fishermen (oooooh) who's hands would get all dry and chapped on the boats. You can get it in Superdrug and it's pretty cheap (I think) for a fantastic product.

ZingWantsCake · 24/09/2013 01:23

Daley

It is a good product, MIL swears by it.

However I struggle to visualise fishermen using a hand cream - I can't stand the advert.

DaleyBump · 24/09/2013 01:28

There's an advert?! I didn't actually think it was true! My mum told me that Grin

wiltingfast · 24/09/2013 09:17

Oh yes Daley there is though I have not seen it in an age.

Am with you re aqueous cream perfect, have been there already.

For those using the hyaluronic acid, I'm a bit nervous of anything that has "acid" in the title, will it not irritate the sensitive?

Never heard of jurlique leo, will go google.

Thanks everyone, appreciate the effort to tell me your recommendations! Now the tiresome task of trying to blag samples...

Aveeno cream. Not too expensive, unfragranced and just brilliant for my extremely sensitive and dry skin. I have been using it for 20 years. If you need extra moisture just layer it on top of the Hydraluron serum mentioned or the rosehip seed oil you're using.

wiltingfast · 24/09/2013 10:06

Ok, will def try the aveeno too! There is a version for the face?

OP posts:
Medal · 24/09/2013 10:35

There is an Aveeno cream, which is a small yellowish tube, or lotion which is a larger tube. Both are absolutely fine for the face or body and the larger tube is more economical. Good luck!

Medal · 24/09/2013 10:37

Hyaluronic acid is not an acid as such, so don't worry, it is good for plumping and keepins in moisture. You need to use it under a cream.

tinysleepy · 24/09/2013 11:21

Cetaphil - about £8 - £10.
From big branches of boots or amazon.
Only moisturiser that does the job and doesn't make my skin sore, as I have horrible rosacea.
