Lemony smelling perfumes?

I love lemony smelling perfumes and currently wear one called Lemon Cloud which smells like lemon and marshmallows. Loved it until I realised that it smells just like the lemon flavoured Percy Pig candies from M&S!! Not good.

Am looking for a lemon scent which is grown up and lovely. I like Eau d'Hadrien and Eau Sud (annick goutal) but beyond that not sure of what the options are out there. Any advice appreciated!

Mary Greenwell Lemon.

I'm a die hard citrus lover too.

Agua de Colonia Concentrada by Alvarez Gomez is a Spanish eau de Cologne that is about as lemony as it gets. Hard to find outside Spain (but very good value if you buy there), but apparently available online. It's my all time favourite scent.

Eau d'orange verte by Hermès is another gorgeous citrus scent, though obviously more orangey than lemon. Expensive though. (But worth it)

I also had a sniff of some citrus perfumes on sale in m&s recently (Italian brand, can't remember the name) and the Bergamote was lovely. Smelt gorgeous an hour later, too. Good value.

I'm not such a fan of L'occitane Verbena, as the base notes smell a bit "wet-dish-clothy" to me, so though I love the initial top notes I hate the way it ends up smelling on my skin.

Should add that the citrus perfumes I was talking about from M&s weren't the Fragonard ones.

I have bought the Fragonard lemon and verbena scents in the past and though the initial citrusy whoosh is nice, I don't love them after the top notes fade.

I have the M&S one
The packet says Monotheme, the one I have which is sharp sharp lemon almost g&t like! Is boccioli di Limone

Eau Sauvage is lemony but has cumin to dirty it up a bit. The lemon Clarins one is Eau Dynamisante (sp?).

I have an unopened tester vial of Mary Greenwell 'Lemon' OP, I'm happy to send it to you if you'd like it?

I bought a jo Malone set once of red roses - I don't particularly go a bomb on red roses as the fragrance but it comes with small bottles of the other scents in it - so a separate bottle of honeycomb, rose and a separate bottle of sweet lemon. You would like the sweet lemon in that, it's quite lovely

I ordered a small bottle of the Alvarez Gomez eau de cologne from Amazon a couple of days ago! My mother used to stock up on it when we went to Spain on holiday when I was a child.

Clarins Eau Dynamisante - very lemony, not at all sweet. Lasts for ages, esp if you use the body moisturiser (its frequently sold as a deal with) as well.

One of the Hermes 'gardens' ones has a zingy lemon note. Can't remember which one, all divine and £££ but I circulate between them (as well as Annick Goutal's).

I think that "O de Lancome" has been going since the 60's when I first used it. It has come and gone over that time but still smells "modern" and different.

hollyisalovelyname · 25/09/2013 19:04

You won't better Eau d'Hadrien

ChocChipWine · 25/09/2013 19:13

Cristalle eau Verte - my favourite - much nicer than the original Cristalle
