Are Parlux hairdryers worth the money?

Having NOT got my hair cut off short (thankyou to those who convinced me.. I had my colour sorted and it looks lovely still long now!) I had my hair done today and the hairdresser used a parlux dryer which blasted me with nice coolish air and left my hair nice and un frazzled! My own hairdryer could melt glass it's so hot!

I know they are expensive but am wondering whether to ask for one for Xmas and if so, which one is reccomended?

Parlux are good, but my hairdresser uses an ETI hair dryer and they are rather cheaper and also very good - I have one.

There is another brand knocking around that usually gets recommended on hairdryer threads, but I can't remember what it is. Hopefully someone else will be along to tell you!

I've just bought one (I was on your other thread saying keep the hair, mine is fairly similar IIRC), but literally only 2 or 3 days ago, so I have only used it once. I have had a crap, heavy old one for years and as my hair has grown long I've tended to let it dry naturally, but that gets cold in winter so I decided to treat myself. I have to say it is lovely and light and compact. and very powerful, but that is only first impressions, I haven't used a dryer regularly for years and am not very accomplished with it. I've booked in for a cut and blow dry this week so I can learn how I should be doing it and then need to practice before I really give an informed opinion. But, so far so much better than my old Babyliss one.
