Sheep skin slipper recommendations please!

I have some money built up in paypal and I want to treat dh and I to some really warm slippers (I know I can't believe at my age I'm even writing a sentence like that, but our house gets so cold in winter)

Have had a look at Celtic & Co website and they all look lovely but never shopped with them before so don't know if they are good or not. Have dismissed buying ugg slippers as they are just a step too far cost wise (DH would have a heart attack if I bought him ugg slippers, plus I want to put the rest of the money towards the Ugg Adirondack boots for myself Blush )

So any other recommendations or are Celtic & co pretty good?

Celtic are truly fab.very good quality and wash well. We have used them for years . Totally recommend them.

Agree with celtic sheepskin. Warm , good quality and last a couple of years a pair...and I hardly take mine off!

My boots are four year old and still look like new

Third vote for these beauties. Got mine just before Christmas last year for about £39 (reduced), which is still ££ for slippers, but they are sooo warm and comfy and the sole is tough enough to wear to hang the washing out etc. Love them Smile

mothermirth · 16/09/2013 15:17

PS Get your usual shoe size; they will feel a little snug to start with, but soon give and cuddle your feet in sheepskinny snuggleness. The extra ££ can be offset against your lower heating bills cos they're so warm Grin

Those are the ones I was thinking of getting mothermirth. Tbh I spent £25 and slipper last year from John Lewis and they didn't last 6 months so I think it will be money well spent!

I really fancy a pair, do they end up a bit smelly though?

BornToFolk · 16/09/2013 21:24

I have those ones that Mothermirth linked to and I love them. So warm and cosy and soft and lovely! I've had them about 3 years I think and they are starting to wear out inside. The sheepskin is going quite thin. But I've worn them almost constantly since getting them as they are warm in winter and cool in summer - my feet never feel too hot or sweaty so no Terra, they don't smell! Before I had these, I got through a million pairs of slippers as they fell apart or got stinky but these have no odour at all.

I really love them, worth every penny. I may get one more winter's wear out of these (they look fine from the outside and are still snuggly) then I am definitely replacing.

Yes. Yes to Celtic

4 years of toasted feet here in my shortie boots - I've washed them loads and they come up great.

And if you need any further incentive they're British

BitchyRestingFace · 16/09/2013 21:28

I have a pair of those too, they're brilliant and well worth the cost.

I also have a pair of mules from Celtic, equally great.

Sheepskin is most definitely the way to go for slippers. I used to buy ordinary cheapo slippers and, as BornToFolk says, they quickly fell apart and I also found that my feet would get clammy wearing them. Doesn't happen at all with sheepskin.

Ifcatshadthumbs · 16/09/2013 21:28

Ooh I'm going to order them right now. Dh is saying he doesn't want a pair silly sausage he'll regret it when I'm all toasty
