Monsoon nightmare

Got £30 GC for Monsoon recently.

Was in there having met my mum for shopping/afternoon tea.

Is it me or dear god are their designers blind right now?!

Was in Croydon branch (hell hole on earth otherwise known as Whitgift Centre - Westfield can't come too soon) so limited selection.

And the prices! £55 for a jumper with lace. Eeek!

Anyone seen anything decent there?

I bought an amazing red dress from there in the sale over the summer

reduced down to 24 pounds which made it affordable though

LaFataTurchina · 15/09/2013 09:36

What? What!

I basically love 3 quarters of everything I see in monsoon. I aspire to shop there when I am a real grown up and can afford it I also would need to be taller but I'm ignoring that

It took me 8 months to spend a Monsoon gift voucher. I don'y like their overpriced clothes, but I managed to get a lovely maxi dress in the sale.

Our local shopping centre (Meadowhall) doesn't even have a Monsoon. Perhaps the people of Sheffield are more discerning.

yes I find it very expensive and they so rarely seem to have any discount offers like Debenhams or M&S.

The sizing is huge and strange as well. I did buy a nice skirt last year in the sale though.

I used to like the outlet at Bicester Village but it has gone. used to get some nice things in there.

don't think the quality is as good and i don't want to buy viscose manufacturers - i want cotton.

also jumpers go bally very quickly as they all seem to do nowdays

FamiliesShareGerms · 15/09/2013 11:57

Ah yes, superbagpuss, Monsoon do still do a "proper" sale with real reductions

MissDD1971 · 15/09/2013 15:21

I'm thinking of the sale and the Xmas gifts idea.

Accessorize would be great only I have TONS of earrings/necklaces and bags do not need more!

and kids would be great too only I lack the little ankle biters.

Frumpy and expensive. You used to be able t find the odd nice thing.
I agree with whoever said use them I accessorise!

MissDD1971 · 15/09/2013 15:28

Andcake. There is nothing in Accessorize I need. I already threw out knickers last week (got tons) etc....

If there were some nice decent stuff in Monsoon I'd get it.

Have you tried their trousers? They do some quite simple beige or black trousers which are comfy for weekends, could even go to work and actually fit me (curvy, seemingly shorter legs than the rest of the population!) Smile

MissDD1971 · 15/09/2013 15:41

already got a cropped pair of black trousers from there.

Didn't see nice ones recently but will go to bigger store.

I loved their heritage collection this summer. Lots of Indian prints.
I purchased block print trousers, a maxi skirt an Indian print Cami and a couple of scarves.
Nothing calling to me this season though
