I've decided that I would like some inspiration .
I know what I like but can never find it

Are there any decent uk clothes blogs out there that use the lower priced high street stores?

Gib under new name

Has noone got any?

I'm feeling frumpy and depressed. I've spent so long with no nice clothes and no money to really buy any and I can see the years slipping by and soon I'll be too old to wear a lot of styles. So I want to do something now and on a serious budget.

So any ideas would be good.

I like shoolgatestyle.com her style I down to earth and could easily be replicated with cheaper brands. she does have a bit of primark etc but mainly at least boden price range.

same with doesmybumlook40 and avenue57.blogspot.co.uk has more high street price point. I really like poppystyle but she lives in the US so the clothing not always as accessible and she does shop high end as well s zara gap etc.

what I really need is a blog where the blogger is a size 2/14 and shops in the supermarkets when food shopping for the family with a bi of online asos or other as shes not got time to shop for clothing! Although then I guess she wouldn't have time to blog either.

that's definitely a gap in the blogging world, even the plus size community has a lot of good blogs for larger ladies such as justmeleah.blogspot.co.uk boombands.blogspot.co.uk linzerellofatshion.blogspot.co.uk and hundreds more but a slightly overweight mum to 3/4 children with limited cash I haven't found one yet!

styleguile is another good blog, again shes very slim with a healthy budget, so good for ideas but you need to put in the work finding lower end high street and supermarket equivalents.

I like Style Guile - sorry haven't worked out how to link - daily inspiration, a mix of practical and dressy styles.

TheWomanTheyCallJayne · 18/09/2013 10:59

I know what you mean about supermarket...
New look trousers and supermarket tops is more my level.

On top of being skint I have to throw in being tall and wide hipped.

Thank you for the suggestions I'll have a good browse Smile

OneLittleToddleTerror · 18/09/2013 11:08

I like style guile too. It's at styleguile.blogspot.com

I agree with the lack of blogs for mums who hasn't got time to shop. With clothes from supermarkets and online. I'm very slim, size 8/10, about similar or smaller than Beth in style guile. But I still struggle with finding things that look good when I don't have the time. We have the other problem of being too boyish looking. (Slim doesn't mean we are Kate Moss, just like curvy women aren't all Beyonce).

OneLittleToddleTerror · 18/09/2013 11:09

Yes yes to new look. I'll add h&m too. I can't believe primark terminated their asos contract.

Dontletthemgetyoudown · 18/09/2013 11:34

yes I know what you mean, I am not dismissing stylegulies, schoolgate. ave57 figures at all they have lovely figures. they are just very similar shapes and sizes though.

OneLittleToddleTerror · 18/09/2013 12:43

Do they have very similar shapes and sizes? I think doesmybumlook40 is very tall. I'll never look good with the type of clothes she wears. But she looks very nice and put together. Schoolgate looks a bit bigger. And style guile looks more boyish (could be the hair style).

I think those ladies have lovely blogs but all wear the same thing. I like Kate got the Cream for its cuteness but she buys all her stuff mainly from charity and second hand.

Cat got the Cream!!Grin
